Have you ever had to substitute something kinda crappy for something awesome?
Like when you need butter but only have margarine.

I'm making do right now.
I'm running a computer that's high-end in almost every way...
Except for the graphics card. While I wait for tech support to fix my broken MSI card, I'm using an old Nvidia GEforce 5200. A card that was awful when it was released.

Right now, even Minecraft is lagging, because the card simply can't handle it.
Yeah.

I know this is kind of petty, seeing as how I'm lucky to have a computer at all, but this just sucks.

Is anyone else making do?
Care to share your pain?

Well I recently got my laptop fixed but the charger broke, and my brother's laptop charger literally exploded. Now I have to use the big family computer which I can't use while lieing down on my comfy bed next to the radiator.

Exploded, eh? I'd like to hear that story...
Still, that sucks. Does a charger really cost that much? I wouldn't know.

my laptop has no dedicated graphics. It has a whole, 5 frames/second, sometimes goes to 1/3 a frame/minute.

So don't you dare whine to me.

This is why it would be awesome if the PS3 or xbox could be hooked up to a computer to act as its video card...

I also make do with my brain power and effort levels. both are low.

It's not a great story. He doens't treat his chargers well. There were some exposed wires which i covered with tape for safety. Then I plugged it in today and the power in my house went out, thought it was a coincidence. 30 mins later there's a small white band about 3 feet form where i was sitting and the wire had disconnected itself from the plug, which was still in the wall.

And they don't cost much. I bought one for £6.95 on ebay with a years warrenty. They're much mroe expensive in shops I think and all the shops close on sunday anyway.

Well, I once had a PSP charger die on me because I left the charger in without the PSP connected for a looooong time.

Now I have a sweet charger that'll charge anything that has a standard USB plug,

A USB charger? Nice. Never heard of one of those before. I shall have to look into it.

I have the same problem. My laptop's perfect for gaming...apart from the crappy graphics card. For most games Im using the family computer, but it doesnt have much memory so I'm always uninstalling and reinstalling stuff

My mobile phone is currently replacing a coaster.

I think someone's stealing all of them, I can never find any, yet I bought 20 a week ago.
