So here goes. I do all sorts of weird projects, you can look some up at my site at http://iki.fi/sol/
Among other things, I've made the first (and probably only) freeware game with actual licensed music from a bunch of indie bands. The game didn't get popular, so you've probably never heard of it. Not a big deal there.
Anyway, one thing that I'd love to do is a freeware game cooperating with a published writer. Back when I first got this idea, I tried to find the right communities for that, but nobody paid me any mind whatsoever. I also tried to contact a bunch of authors directly, and apart from a couple replies from a certain web comic author, when I did get replies, they were from assistants saying that said authors are busy, go away.
Now, I'm pretty sure there's an author out there who'd love to go through the experience of writing for a game, and this would be a relatively risk-free way of doing it - I can explain what's going on and what kind of stuff is possible and what's needed and whatnot, and the author naturally retains all rights to their work, so it's not like it's a complete waste of time..
Why post here? I suppose this is marginally better than posting on a programming / gamedev forum, and since the writer's forums I used got zero replies, oh well.. who knows.
(and yeah, if you're a published writer, feel free to send me an email - address can be found on my site).
Oh, and here's something for you to look at, for the heck of it.
