I wonder why game developers insist on the same universe for some of these franchises. Final Fantasy built a major success by keeping the essential gameplay elements while having separate universes for the story. Once this trilogy is over, why does the next Gears of War have to be the same universe? Why not take the gameplay and move it to a new story and setting?

oh i know, you could have them get on a space ship and go to other worlds, and meet alien races AND KILL THEM!
