I rush down to the police building with Paddy.

 

[Paddy the Second]

"Where the fuck is Xot I need to talk to that asshole about keeping magic locked."

 

[Saltarius]

"Don't even get me started. Long story short, Xot's not Xot. And he never was. The Mall's a sham."

 

[MinimanZombie]

"No shit!" I say to the duo.
"Did any of us ever actually believe it wasn't a fake?"

 

[Saltarius]

"Uh, yeah actually. We did. That's how ruses like this work."

 

[Paddy the Second]

"HURRY THE FUCK UP LEGAL PROCESS!"

"Okay, so Xot not being Xot was odd, sure. But how could we not expect them to be tricking us? They would never be taking us to wherever we're going if it was a good cause."

I put Paddy in a cell.

"Should I swipe a pair of handcuffs from here for future use?"

 

[Paddy the Second]

"Yes." I look around. "Which of you is Rojas? I got a message from your boss!"

 

[Saltarius]

"Cause I mean we never really did anything like that when we were together and just uh...right sorry you're busy."

 

[Paddy the Second]

"I'm very much into that Salt but I'm busy right now."

 

[Saltarius]

"And you know if we were ever to-God, sorry rambling when inappropriate."
