I look back at the police officers. "It'll be easier with two people. And I'm a damn good cleaner, as well as a good interrogator."

I close the phone and pocket it.
"I'm going to need a list of every cop who had contact with Salt before he left to interview Joe and the other shopkeepers, who also knew about Joe's connection to the Trío and who left work before Joe was shot. I think one of them may be a member of the gang."

I sit on a bench on the other side of the city and stare at the river, wondering if anything vaguely plot related is going to happen to me.

The detective walks through the front door. He catches one look at you.

You walk past him. As soon as you forget about him, he tackles you from behind. You hit your head on the concrete, cutting a gash on your forehead. You turn over and face up at your attacker. He punches at your face, but misses and hits the concrete, breaking his hand. You slip away.

I barge through the doors, and spot Trilby. I flash my wallet briefly, for practically half a second.
"I work for a group that for specific reasons, and public safety, does not technically exist. That man is under arrest for crimes that I'm not technically allowed to repeat. If you would kindly allow me to escort him out of these facilities, as he poses a threat to everyone here."
I grab Trilby's arm and whisper into his ear.
