TL;DR Japanese and Russian scientists are attempting to clone a mammoth, Dolly the sheep style from frozen (not fossilised) Mammoth DNA from marrowbone in a thigh. McMammoth Burgers and Chips are on the way. Hopefully. So long as they don't shit on my lawn.

but surely it will be impossible to clone it fully? it's going to have to develop in an elephants womb so won't dna or something have to be changed so that the fetus won't be rejected?
