Just shows how angry people can be over a simple thing, feel sorry for the child...

Here is the link:
http://uk.news.yahoo.com/5/20101118/tuk-man-killed-toddler-while-playing-xbo-45dbed5.html

According to this the child came over to her father crying, the dad flipped and caused fatal damage to the kid. Because she interrupted him while on the Xbox. I find that pathetic.

This has just made me feel a bit Queezy...thinking that someone could acctualy do this =\

What's your say in this escapist

EDIT: "A post-mortem found bruises all over her body. She had 35 separate injuries and she had damage to her brain, cracked ribs and internal injuries".

My heart just sank =\ Poor kid :(

Chances are that he had issues that went far and beyond the gaming habit. Stuff like this is what gives people who play videogames a bad name. Watch him get a few years in a psych ward for his, "Not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect." ruling.

The man has some serious psychological issues, and the media is going to use this to pain all of us in a bad light.

may I be the first one to say:

oh that's just amazing, just amazing

way to go asshole, not only you're fucking up gaming's image to the rest of the world (minor point, but still sort of counts), you also fucked up your own family legacy

edit: plan fuck up, but my point still stands

That guy is a fucking sick-head... also damn as you know this is going to blamed on games even though child beaters like that will flip out over pretty much anything.

I'd rather the headline didn't make it sound that the game was somewhat to blame because frankly when there are people that depraved out there literally anything can set them off.

Jeeze. What an ass.

If I ever have kids, I'll make sure nothing remotely similar happens. Ever. I'll do my best to make up for bad parents like this.

She should get alot longer for allowing that, and he should never even get the option of release.

Well this is clearly a case where the parents had more problems and that a game was an innocent bystander getting caught and shot in the crossfire.

For some reason, it makes me even more sick that this was not his child. It leaves me wondering if somehow I'd be less bothered if it was, but I think this is a case of "infinitely sick" versus "infinitely sick plus one."

This is why when I have responsibilities as an adult I won't play video games anymore (not because they're bad, but because I won't have time and don't want to become a nerd addict like I'm turning out to be.)

I'm not clicking that link, because when the story of Baby P was all over the news, I couldn't stop crying.
That is just horrifying. The man is most likely mentally unstable, some people like that shouldn't have children in my opinion.
I'm sure they're quick to blame games again, but the breaking point could have been anything; if he were watching TV or cooking the tea, anything. >_>;

Really, your first concern when you saw this was that this would reflect poorly upon gaming? It wasn't the 15 month old who was mercilessly beat to the edge of death? I don't think that this reflects upon gaming in any way. It's obvious that the man was unstable, and he cracked because he was irritated, not because of the video game.

I think the way they handled the story was very tactful. Though the headline mentions the Xbox, if you watch the video version of the story it's strictly the facts. No trying to draw parallels between the the content of the video game and his behavior. They don't even mention what game he was playing. It wasn't pertinent, and it would have been extremely insensitive. I believe that had this happened in America, whether or not the video game affected his behavior would have been the first thing they mentioned.

My prayers go out to this family. That should never happen to anyone. This is just tragic beyond words.

This is one of the many reasons that I feel we should license reproduction. My heart goes out to that poor kid and I hope that thing some may call human enjoys its time behind bars.

I think i'll just give up supporting games as an art form if it causes this.

My condolences(?) to the family.

I know my post didnt came out really bright looking, and no, that wasnt my first concern, it's just, the order I wrote it, nothing really meaningful there

while I do agree that it only mentions the actually important stuff, I was sort of doing an impersonation there

that's why I put a title

though, upon re-reading it, I did made myself look like an asshole
