Is Man vs Wild that show with Bear Grylls in it?( Not far off, doesn't have an H)
Yes that would be the show... Although in Britain is Born Survivor.

if i recall, there already is a man vs wild type game.

As I said... This game
is the true Bear Grylls game. I mean... you run out of stamina and you have to hunt and eat the wild life...

Oh please please please, by the forest moon of Endor, make this game die a horrible, lonely, ignominious death. What's it going to be about? You drink your own pee then die? Or you tromp around killing things, then go spend the night in your hotel room? There's already WAY too much Bear Grylls-related media in the world, we REALLY don't need a game, do we?

Man vs wild is such a fakeish show, sure some of his tactics are helpful but the guy himself is a big phony, you want a real survivor show? Watch Survivorman. As far as the tax thing goes, come to Canada instead :)

Way to go Michigan. Every time I turn around, you're fucking up my home just a little bit more. I've been begging Granholm to give game studios the incentive to open up shop in Michigan, but she fucks this up too. Thank christ we only have 9 more months of her retarded ass in office.

You can have her back Canada. wish you had never given her to us anyhow.
<-Michigander

Theres nothing to prove the next Governor wont be just as pants on head retarded as Granholm. Engler was just as bad before her. At any rate, how is this specifically her fault?

Anyways, Im in agreement that Michigan cant afford any lawsuits. Its amazing we are even still a state at this point with the unemployment rate through the roof and people leaving the state in droves.

Purely on the fact that there is a Man Vs Wild game:

You could virtually drink your pee! what's the downside!?! In all seriousness thought, I bet it'll suck. Something in my gut says it'll be some form of turn-based, like Oregon Trail.
If thats true, you'll die of dysentery in the first ten minutes.

That sounds completely dumb but awesome at the same time.
My thoughts exactly. Do you get to recreate iconic Bear Grylls stunts?

There was this one really awesome scene in the show, where Grylls throws a sharp stick at a fleeing rabbit and breaks its neck, killing it instantly. That's a great set-up for a third person shooter.

Haha. Great, they're going to teach survival techniques to people who (odds are) won't ever be in a situation where they will need it...

OT: I enjoyed Oregon Trail though thought it was odd because I visited the end of it in real life with locals and said "I finally made it to the end of the Oregon Trail with out somebody getting eaten by a bear". They (the locals) looked at me odd so I mentioned that I was referencing the game. They had no idea it existed. BTW, one was in her early 20's.

Its crap, the only game worse is "Tunnel Rats", but that is because Uwe Boll was directly involved with making that.

if you dont believe me, heres a vid

Actually that vid and the next one makes it look kind of good. Unforgiving, atmospheric, voice acting sucks but that is kind of part of the 70s/80s vietnam movie feel. (platoon, full metal jacket, apocalypse now, etc)

Interesting, and sadly there seems to be no easy resolution for this problem.

While I'd agree the company in question should probably qualify for tax credits, I can see why if they are trying to support small developers they are concerned about liscences and the ownership of them. While this seems straightforward, the system could also be abused by a big company "fronting" a small company with a liscence to get tax credits it couldn't otherwise obtain to devleop a major game... in effect manipulating the system into giving tax breaks to a level of business not normally permitted. Approving these guys for a tax credit could establish an awkward precedent if a company like say Lucasarts decided to form a sub company called "Bozo Entertainment" which is independant on paper to develop a Star Wars game, having obtained the liscence dirt cheap due to the 'generosity' of the Lucas estate or whatever. If it was done right the precedent could make turning them down despite all common sense a headache.

The big about them never having awarded the credits is supicious though and makes me think it's a PR gimmick that they never plan to deliver on. That bit does make me think someone should be taking a closer look at the state was well despite this making a degree of sense. I can't help but wonder if perhaps this is a front for holding a bunch of money allegedly for "credits" or whatever that is being used for something else.

*Snip oversized picture of Uncharted*
What the hell does Uncharted have in common with Man vs Wild? o_O
Man vs. Wild is a show about a man eating animals and bugs without cooking them first surviving in various harsh environments around the world. Uncharted is about a man looking for treasure and killing everybody who gets in his way, which just so happens to take place in the jungle. You don't even get attacked by animals, unless you include the humans turned into primitive killing machines by a supernatural force.

OT: I don't really bother with the show, and a Man vs. Wild game appeals to me even less. Still, I guess it'll be interesting to see how they manage to make stuffing random flora and live fauna into your mouth an interesting game mechanic.

So I guess I'm the first to say that I misread the title as "Man vs. Wild Dev Takes Machinegun to Court", though it is interesting, I was a bit disappointed that it was just Michigan...
