So, unless you're an American, you probably don't care.

But I do, damnit! Mostly because I'm American. But also because turkey is delicious and everything else that comes with the idea of Thanksgiving is delicious.

Oh yeah, and peace and love and all that shit.

Anyways, I made this thread for us dirty, fat Americans to discuss what we like the most about Thanksgiving.

So, shoot.

My Husband and I are ordering Pizza, having a few beers, and he's going to watch me play Batman:Arkham City.

I honestly don't like much about Thanksgiving. No one in my family ever has set plans and everything is a last-minute call when it's too late for me to make a trip to wherever they are.

I don't even like Turkey very much, even when I was omnivorous, leaning heavily towards being completely carnivorous. Least favorite bird meat. No matter who cooks it, it always tastes dry and bland. Also, Turkeys are assholes.

Turkey is never delicious imo. Everyone I've asked agrees that turkeys are bigger, shitter chickens.

Although they might taste different in America?

Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, eggnog, pumpkin pie, the whole deal over here. It is funny how people tend to think Thanksgiving is about eating a lot of food. There is more to it than a feast. It is a celebration of gratitude and the humble beginnings of America. I guess this is why it isn't celebrated anywhere else.

I call Turkey "Bumblegum Chicken", its take forever to chew.

I'm going to make Duck wrap this Christmas, I'll send you the recipe if your into the delicious flavour of Duck and Pork meat.

Certain parts of the turkey can taste good. I don't really like the white meat parts because they are dry and would rather go for the dark meat or skin. There is more fat and flavor in the darker parts. Also, I find the best part about having turkey is having it as a leftover in sandwiches or soup. Personally, I much prefer pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving than turkey. =P

My dad just started frying a turkey. You can't bash turkey until you've had it deep fried.

Or maybe people have different opinions.

OT: No thanksgiving here, Danes tend to try to eat themselves to death with unregulated christmas lunches though.

It's glorious. I think turkey has a nice distinct flavor to it.

There are some safety considerations to take into account...
