Damn, really? It was a good series, but I would have never guessed.

OT: This works both ways sort of. Cowboy Bebop is one of the most critically acclaimed series ever released in the west but most Japanese anime fans don't give two shits about it.

Also, you can't forget Lupin III. He's like Japan's Mickey Mouse and western anime/manga fans know very little about him outside of that one Miyazaki movie.
