Every now and then while lurking on the forums I see an interesting avatar, specifically, from a certain anime/manga and whenever this happens I get a little grin on my face.

So my question is this; Do you watch/read anime/manga and if so, what are they, if not, what is your take on both?

I love a little bit of anime myself. Probably would have to list Samurai Champloo and Evangelion as some of my all time favourites, although catching up with some like Bleach through Lovefilm.

I got myself into a bit of trouble after spending so much money on DVDs and bits and pieces, I had to sell a lot of it off to get myself out of debt during uni. I have learnt my lesson from that!

Not anymore.

I used to love the stuff back i the day, but slowly stopepd watching anime, then Manga.
I couldn't find any good mangas to replace the series I read that was over, so I stopped.

These days it's all about the mMarvel Superheroes for me.

I watch the ones that are 24 episodes or shorter. If it is longer than that Filler starts sneaking in. Hellsing and Afro Samurai are probably my favourites. Honourable mentions to Black Blood Brothers too. By and large I prefer Marvel and Image comics and the Cartoon/Animations related to them (spawn animated series is one of my favourite series around).

Yes, occasionally, though certain tropes and clichés I find rather irritating at best and horribly stupid at worst

Berserk
BLAME!
Vinland Saga
Monster
20th Century Boys
Pluto
Billy Bat
GUNNM/Battle Angel Alita
Death Note
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
Fullmetal Alchemist (forgot that one for a sec)

Elfen Lied
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Casshern SINS
Code Geass

Naruto
Bleach
Claymore

I read and watch anime, but not all that often. I read much more manga than I watch anime. Manga I have read:
Death Note.
Full Metal Alchemist.
Battle Angel Alita (original series+Last Order).
Monster (well obviously).
Dragon Ball + Z.
20th Century Boys.
Pluto.
Claymore.
Tsubasa.
XXX-Holic.
All the ones that come to mind immediatly.

Anime I have watched:
Full Metal Alchemist (original).
Neon Genesis Evangelion.
And that is it, I think.

Bleach but I can't stand subs, so I am awaiting the dubs from 178 onwards.

I have seen all DBZ but I would like to watch DBGT and the others.

No, no I do not. I do not like manga or anime, and by extension I am slightly annoyed whenever I see someone with a manga/anime avatar. Especially when it is an animated avatar, as those are just super annoying most of the time anyways regardless of the subject matter.

If this blanket pronouncement of these mediums to be things I personally detest somehow offends you, really do not bother fruitlessly attempting to change my mind. Seriously, just let it go obsessed fans of art/animation styles I find repugnant - you are never ever going to sway me from my point of view no matter how hard you try. I don't like manga or anime - I am never going to like them, and you can't change that. All you will accomplish is making me think less of you for trying. So don't.

[small]Note that while I have clearly stated that I intensely dislike those mediums, I have not just insisted that they are objectively worthless or that you are stupid for liking them[footnote]I am however going to start thinking you are stupid if you ignore my earlier advice and pointlessly try to get me to "embrace anime", because you'll have demonstrated that you have terrible reading comprehension.[/footnote], so there should really be no reason for any knee-jerk moves to defend those art styles from my "ignorant assault against them", as I haven't made any such assault. I have simply expressed a subjective personal dislike for an inherently subjective medium, and you do not have to try to change my mind (nor should you).[/small]

mostly manga...anime has filler, and filler ruins the story. I'm currently trying to marathon MahoMahou Sensei Negima and failing (been trying for a month now)

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (When they Cry)
Spice & Wolf
Baccano!

Currently watching Fate/Stay Night, with X and Ergo Proxy lined up.

I do and I like them, although I often can't be bothered to actually read manga. Not when I have so many other books to work through.
When it comes to anime I'm very wary of it, some of it is so god awful and then occasionally you get a little gem appear.

My favorites in the anime are;
Helling
Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex
Highschool Of The Dead (I just discovered this and although it has waaay too much fanservice I can't NOT like anything with zombies)
Cowboy Bebop
FLCL
Neon Genesis Evangelion
