FUCK TRIGUN, that is all I have to say.
That show bait-and-switch'd me in the worst way.
I was really getting into it. I digged the characters, I absolutely loved the whole steampunk western aesthetic they got going on... and then it suddenly, bam, spaceships and genetically engineered supersoldiers and arms that turn into laser cannons, because no action anime protagonist can ever be a competent fighter and just a regular guy and not a demonspawn or robot or saiyan or whatever, completely turning everything in the established world upside down.

I used not to mind these things back when I was into shows like DBZ and Yu Yu Hakusho but when I watched Trigun much later it really took me out of the show. I refused to watch the episodes after the revelation until much later and with good reason, they blew.

Guyver was possibly THE MOST disappointing and biggest piece of crap anime I've ever watched! And I, for some ungodly reason, watched Colorful! (look it up) All over the case it says "hyper violence, you'll never see anything like it!" Excel Saga's violence is more hyper violent! [/rant]
