with the huge maps for shooters i think they should lay down grids. with new games like Resistance 2 with 60 players simultaneously you should be able to say stuff like sniper at E4 in stead of near the big tower. this would probably help exponentially and seams rather simple. i would think it would all ready be done.

The surfaces do have bounding meshes and polygons which would be useful to see, somewhat, in the context of level creation and/or editing. But adding that visibility to shooters for gameplay is highly visually distracting, and offers an advantage I would suppose, to aiming along peticular vectors that are easy to identify and ideal,, and would make players stand out significantly, killing any possible stealth gameplay.
