ah yes the marathon trilogy. the few people who owned a mac for gaming in the eary and late 90's knew this series was good stuff. for the rest of you, Marathon was the first game attempt by bungie. it had stuff like Duel Wielding, A realistic ammo storage system (even had reload animations), Alt Fire and a Complex story. Marathon came out in 1994 and was already more complex then it's competition, sadly it was a Macintosh exclusive. soon enough sequals came around, expanding on the storyline and gameplay.
you can thank the Marathon series for creating stuff that is taken for granted by todays standards (Half Life didn't invent storyline in the FPS genre THANK YOU VERY MUCH).
all of the games in the marathon series have been released for free and has been ported to all major OS's (Windows, Linux and Mac) thanks to the source port Aleph One.
