As it looks right now Blizzard has taken it from its opponents so far. But if my couting is right, Blizzard is going to go head-to-head with Bungie. Now thats going to be a real fight. Halo meats Warcraft, Starcraft and Diablo. And in other news, Bioware is probably going to face Epic Games. No doubts Bioware has the upper hand in this. But the most imoportant News is that Ubisoft Montreal, maker of the good part of the Prince of Persia serie and Assassins Creed, is facing Valve in round three. How will this turn out? Although valve probably has the upper hand, they might lose some points due to the fact that they have not released Half life: episode three. Well that conclud The news on round Two on the March Mayhem. Tune after Round Three to see who is fighting who.

*EDIT*
Schocking news just came in! It seems like Capcom the giant has reached its opponent Obsidian and they are in an agressive fight that is holy unnatural. Will Capcom take it or will small time Obsidian hold the win? (i didnt do this post to be serious, it was to have fun and talk about MM. See ya all next time)

You think that's nasty? Have you seen the Infinity Ward Vs Zynga.
Let's just say Zynga are winning and IW Fans are not happy about it. (Myself included.)

*Edit*
I think Valve might just take home the big prize on this. Though I think Bungie might give them a good run for their money.

My prediction for Round 6? Turbine vs Bioware.

Turbine wins.

I'm not going to beat the horse that's been beaten since the 2008 March Mayhem, but suffice to say I'm going to be realistic about it.

Yeah, that one surprised me as well. Since when did Zynga deserve any award?

Well, I guess thanks to them we have these videos:

Those videos were pretty funny, I have to admit. I laughed my arse off at 'em. They brilliantly highlighted just how much of a snooze-fest Zynga games are.

What people don't seem to get about MM is that it's a popularity contest, not a good-game contest. Quantitative analysis, people. And the IW vs Zynga is, to me anyway, hilarious. Because people do take it seriously. It's a poll, on a website, in a corner of the net. Does it mean that one developer is better? Honestly? Fuck no. It's just that that one developer can rally more troops to hit buttons.

I want Capcom to win in the end but alas that isn't going to happen. valve or bioware are clearly going to be on top.

I'm not convinced bungie will be able to beat blizzard, let alone take the top spot. And I think in the event it came down to valve vs bungie, valve would sweep the floor with them. They've been around longer and produced a lot more memorable games, whereas bungie has just one killer franchise.

Pssh, only if the Zynga monkies don't get in on it.

IW is starting to make a slow come back as all the Zynga facebookers came into the website on the first day. Hopefully they make a one-time rush and thats it. But honestly at this point i would not be surprised if Zynga wins it all.

Pretty much sums it up. It's basically a vote over fan boys/girls to whom developer they "personally think" is best. I personally hope Square Enix wins because I've liked the design of their content for many years. It feels so good to instead of coming home to play Call of Duty, shooting the shit out of other people, to just play a RPG (JRPG in this case) and relax. Like i said, that's just my opinion though.

Yeah the whole Zynga thing has my bracket fucked beyond belief, but I still have Valve slated to win in the final. If Valve has to take on Zynga in round 5, there is going to be a surge of fans from the Steam forums the likes of which the Escapist has ever seen.

I don't have much to say on the topic of your thread but I can tell you one thing. I actually really enjoyed reading your post, it made a lot of sense and it could very possibly happen.

I'm predicting Valve vs Bioware. So far, most of my picks have come true, with the exception of 2-4 choices.

I agree. I feel like as soon as Bungie come up against someone solid they are going to hit some big problems, may be wrong though.

I don't think there are any massive shocks for me this round so far, suppose things could change. It is round 3 that I am really looking forward to!

They make the facebook games: Farmville and Mafia Wars, amongst others.
I say "game" for lack of a better word, since you don't really play.
What? Why would anyone play games on facebook? They obviously already have a computer so they can play games for PCs!

Thats like saying I know what I am supposed to use the toilet for... but I think I will drink out of it today. Sure you can, but its disgusting and wrong... and that applies more to facebook games than drinking out of the toilet!

It's not only that, you have a large amount of people still sore over ThatGameComany's loss to IW and then vote for Zynga without second thought and give an unfair boost to zynga's numbers. Not to mention that some of these developers were doomed from the start because they were paired up with rather massive and popular developers. Since this competition basically boils down to who has the most fanboys and least amount of people looking to sabotage their polls.

March mayhem has done little good for the community so far. the boost in membership also comes at the price of a high amount of "contaminants" being introduced. Not to mention that it has caused many users to take sides and ignited squabbling between both new and establish members. What's worse is that the scars from such a terrible experience is going to stay with this community and grudges will exist for long time.

In my personal opinion, I don't quite think March Mayhem was thought all the way through, otherwise people would have realized it would lead to troubles like this.

WRONG. Bungie has existed far longer than Valve, and produced many great games.
Try doing some research before you call someone wrong. Bungie was founded in 97, and valve 96. Besides that, Bungie only truly became a big name in recent years. The marathon series may have been great, but it wasn't all that mainstream, neither was myth.

March Mayhem: It's serious business.

We have fun with it. You guys should too. Just chill out a bit, realize that if even 1% of the new registrants stick around that's a boost of potentially thousands to the community, and enjoy yourselves :)
