Is this surprising in the least? Any successfull game they make is rehashed ad nauseum. This game looks fun but I'm so sick of Nintendo I can do without most of their "exclusives".
I'll just go play Kirby's Adventure.
Just to clarify here, are you criticizing Nintendo for something it has not actually done yet?
Just to be clear, yes and no. First off, this game (Epic Yarn) is just another installment in the formulaic remakes of their classics (albeit with a cool visual style) just like the infinite installments of Zelda, Metroid, Mario, etc. So in that sense, no I am not criticizing it for something it hasn't done yet, because they are
already doing it. Although a small minority of these remakes may be fun, most of them are just short term enjoyment and nothing new, and have little to no replay value, for me. There are fewer exceptions to this observation than there are examples.
And also, they are discussing revamping old games in this epic yarn visual style, most notably Mario as per what the
entire article was about. In that sense, yes I am criticizing them for something they haven't done yet, but my opinion isn't any less valid than someone who is saying they want to see more games in this visual style. After all, the entire article is them just tossing around an idea, and that's all I can really comment on, whether or not I like the idea.
So is it wrong to criticize something that is only being tossed around as an idea? Maybe, maybe not, but as
I stated as my own personal opinion I am sick of nintendo doing this. This is why I sold my wii, as I felt there wasn't any new exlcusive content on it that I felt made the console worth keeping. Just remakes of old games.
Any more questions?
