Alright, now I'm bad at movie marathons. I find it very hard to watch any more than 2 movies consecutively - I just get restless and my eyes need a break.

...but come on! Tell me I'm not alone in thinking that ELEVEN movies back-to-back sounds like torture! The very idea makes me feel exhaustion!

What do you think? Could you stomach that many movies in a row?

"Do you have the power to watch all 11 AVENGERS movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe back-to-back?"

I damn well don't. I kinda get the idea of film marathons, but it's not like Star Wars or Lord of the Rings (and I guess you could go The Hobbit + Lord of the Rings now) where it's all part of one story.

I could think of a few "half-marathons" to do within the MCU like
Iron Man, Iron Man 2, The Avengers, Iron Man 3, Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Or something like that, but not the whole thing.

In fact, time to think of what I would do during such a marathon. I could fall asleep during Iron Man and Guardians of the Galaxy, and maybe The Incredible Hulk, and enjoy the others. Yeah, that sounds cool.

If I took part in this, my excitement for Age of Ultron will go quickly and will just be annoyed. I don't care if the movies are fun, 29 hours of being in a cinema will just be hell for me. I dunno, for me, if I watch something for too long, a full season (22-24 episodes) box set in one go, I would enjoy it less and less the more I watch. I like to enjoy things a bit at a time. Which is why I only go cinema about 2-4 times a year. Enjoy the cinematic experience more and make it something special. Which is why I noticed with some reviewers when they talk about movies, "cinematic experience" rarely comes up. The enjoyment of seeing a movie in it's best quality on a big screen especially IMAX, is memorable and so fun. Problem with that is, you will have the occasional arseholes who just won't SHUT THE FUCK UP!!, during the movie.

So, naaah can't stomach it. Too much of something all at once will just make me mad or throw up.

If I cared about Marvel enough I'd probably go. Since I don't the only two movies I plan on seeing in theatres this year are Blade Runner and the new Star Wars (who won't?). I can imagine watching each Marvel movie one after another will just make you sick of Marvel by the end of it, they're not exactly marathonable movies like Star Wars or LotR at all.

Well I once watched a Godzilla Marathon but I can't remember how many movies it was and I watched if from 10am til 6pm!

In saying so this was on a TV channel (promo for that first US Godzilla remake) therefore there were plenty of breaks! Even then I wouldn't go to place that the OP had linked due to the fact it start from 6pm til 7 pm and no, this won't last an hour! There is no way in hell I will take up all night, morning and afternoon to watched all 11 Marvel films! I would probably fall asleep during after midnight!

They're MUCH MORE marathonable than LotR or Star Wars. Those movies are all samey and drag. Marvel movies are all punchy and keep changing things up.

I've done the LotR marathon in normal and extended form, and I've done Star Wars marathons in both original trilogy and all 6 movies forms.
The Marvel Phase 1 marathon was waaaaaaay more pleasent.

I watched the entirety of Phase 1 in a marathon at the Alamo Drafthouse, ending with the release of The Avengers. That's 6 movies.
It was...long.
29 hours in one go is waaay too much.
Recommended maximum dosage should be like.....10 hours. Even that's pushing it.

I'm getting ready to begin my Phase 1+2 marathon that makes that 11 movie marathon look like a joke.
Mine will include all of Agents Of SHIELD, Agent Carter, Daredevil, and all the One-Shots.
Roughly 65 hours.
Probably broken down across a week or two.

At first, I was so on board with that... until it mentioned 3D, in which I immediately went "I'd rather pick-and-choose my MCU views before seeing AoU, thank you very much..."

Other than that, as far as which one's I wouldn't mind seeing on the big screen this time (since I've only seen GotG in theaters so far), definitely The Incredible Hulk, the two Captain America movies, and The Avengers... In fact, if that link is correct, I could just see both Avengers movies back-to-back and call it a [good] day afterwards...

I'd do it if (1) it was offered here and (2) if I didn't own all of the films on DVD/Blu-ray already.

But it's not happening here and I already own them all, so there's really no point.

I don't know, watching a movie in theatres is a whole different experience from watching them at home. I know I'd go for it if 1) it was offered here, and 2) I had someone there to wake me up while I power-napped during Thor 2.

But since I can't, I'm planning on just waiting for Age of Ultron.

On a side-note: when the MCU comes to an end, I wonder just how long a marathon of the whole thing would last. I mean the WHOLE thing, all the movies, one-shots and television/Netflix series.

Geez. I watched a Marathon leading up to the Avengers, and that was brutal enough for me. I loved all the movies, but there is a limit to how long I can sit in a dark theater watching movies. By the time we got out of the theater at 2:30 the next morning, I was tired, and it took me the weekend to recover from the fatigue. I couldn't imagine what I would be like if I was to do this one.

Just wait till the marathons for the infinity war movies come out.

Oh dear god, when that happen's we're going to get stories about people dying from inactivity like we do every now and again from South Korean or Taiwanese video game cafes

God no, I can't barely sit through one movie in a theatre even if I like it. I can do movie marathons but only when I'm able to other things at the same time.

Maybe back when I was in college.

Now? Hell no. Staying up for twenty-four hours hits me like drinking a pint of vodka and taking a sledgehammer to the side of the head.

I can't help but think that such an experience would severely curtail any enjoyment of Age of Ultron. (The marathon, that is, not the vodka sledgehammer.)
