So my girlfriend has been playing through MVC and has gotten damn good at it. I'm looking at beating her and trying some team combo's out on my own time. ANyone have any suggestions for me to try out?

All three have attacks designed to keep people away from them which are ridiculously easy to use. Ammy has her ice shards attached to her prayer beads, Deadpool has his pistol and grenade combo, and Dante has rockets. Dante's rockets are murder if you can't jump over them, although he's kind of iffy now as so many people use him that he's become predictable. Both Dante and Deadpool have specials which knock people back as well. It's easy to keep a person pinned in a corner an entire match.Bouncing Ferret FIlm said:

I like donte, but i haven't found his "rockets"... and i've never been one for cheap bullshit. I do a good combo or play a character and master it, as apposed to say.. doing the same BS move over and over.... though i use to do that to my brother in MK3 and launch sector's seeking rockets at him.Midnight Crossroads said:

Arthur, Deadpool, Ryu. This is a combination I see (or saw... damn PSN) all the time for cheap spamming keep 'um away.
Your team is almost the same as mine. Ammy, Tronne, and Zero for me. 2 rushdown/pressure demon Glass Cannons and a character with an amazing assist that can also take a ton of punishment. Zero and Joe are both red, helmet wearing heroes.Midnight Crossroads said:

I wouldn't recommend using She-Hulk until you're very familiar with her, because she's probably the hardest character in the game to play well. She has some pretty sick unblockables with Tron assist though.
I personally use Wolverine/Sentinel/Hulk, but I'm trying to find a replacement character for Hulk. He's simply too easy to keep out. If your opponent has ANY projectile, all they have to do is run away and spam, and you basically have no options with Hulk. He's pretty ridiculous once he gets in though.

Doesn't rape quite as hard as in MvC2, but it will still probably make her cry.

Chun-li, Wolverine and Ammy are good for non-stop hitting. They're good when you want to land the first and last blows of the match in the same combo.
Haggar's great for power-blows, when it's not how often you hit, but how hard. A level 3 X-Factor Haggar's one tough SOB.
Deadpool's a good average fighter, nice for pretty much anything you might need.
Zero's a bit finicky. Once you learn his combos, he's a goldmine. Otherwise, not worth it I'd say.
Unless you're good at keeping the Hyper bar full, I'd avoid Phoenix. Too fragile.
X-23's a little too fragile too, but she's not bad.
Doom and Magneto are good keep-back fighters, and Spencer's a good keep-back counter.
Dante's unpredictable at times, but if you can learn enough of his techniques to counter many situations, then I'd go with him.

Overall, it's down to preference, really. If you need to try it for yourself, try their missions in SP. Seeing how many you can get through without getting stuck for one particular character shows you how well you can use them.

Case in point about the preference thing. To me, Mr. Omega's choices are a mixed bag. I cannot handle M.O.D.O.K. for the life of me, Haggar's one of my strongest (though I use a different assist) and X-23's about in the middle for me.Mr. Omega said:
