What an original new direction for Spiderman.

I'm surprised this hasn't been done before.

So after ending the Ultimate and Now! universe, they are basically rewriting Ultimate Spiderman? Am I understanding this correctly? When is someone in Marvel going to stand up and shout, "Okay, enough of the multiple Spiderman\Women! Let's create a new character that is not a clone or power-copycat for a change."

I for one would like to read in the main continuity that Peter Parker settles down from being Spiderman and continues being an awesome scientist/inventor and husband to Mary Jane. He then passes on the mantle to their daughter.

As long as they don't insult everybody's intelligence by having every issue of the comic constantly acting like Peter, Aunt May, Mary Jane, etc. "really really will kick the bucket this issue! HONEST!" I won't mind it. However, I've always hated prequels precisely because there can be zero suspense whatsoever when we all know what characters won't die and which characters either will die or vanish never to be heard from again.

If it's done well, then I'm interested. On an unrelated note, love the sexy pose spidey's pulling in the OP's image.

A fucking soft sell if Marvel ever pulled one.

Holy shit, Daniel O'Brien was right [https://youtu.be/G1dO462ufLc?t=4m30s]. Spider-Man is literally going to be a teenager forever.
Well, apparently the fans can't relate to him if he's not a loser living in his Mom's basement Aunt's attic.

Or Joe Quesada can't. Is he still in charge? I forget.
