Okay, I have no one else to turn to.
EA Support is a pain in the ass to sign up to. Steam help forums refuses to send a confirmation email to any of my three email addresses.
Anyway...
I can't, for the life of me, get Mass Effect 1 to start up on my laptop.
When I attempt to launch it, the "preparing to launch Mass Effect..." window comes up, disappears, and nothing happens. I tried the "run as administrator" trick. I tried the Mass Effect Launcher. But the same thing happens every time. Nothing.
Can You Run It says I pass everything, but here are my specs anyhow:
AMD Phenom(tm) II P940 Quad-Core Processor
5.7 GB RAM
Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650
ATI High Definition Audio Device
But it runs higher-end games smoothly so I have a feeling this isn't the problem.
Also, I downloaded the game via Steam if that helps.
