i wonder about that too, same thing with the things happening in lair of the shadow broker.
but i think that most people will get the dlc's if they loved the game right? i think this dlc was pretty cheap, but i don't really care about the pricetag for more epicness of something i do not want to end so i am biased (i get why people are against dlc, i regret buying the black ops first strike pack for 1200 points, and compared to arrival that is just robbery).

they will probably work something in for people who don't like dlc or just do it like the start of me2 if you don't import a me1 shep?
For me it is two things:
1. I dislike DLC.
2. I can't actually buy DLC. I don't have LIVE which means I can't download any DLC. It sucks.

Ok ok, as soon as I finish my coursework (two weeks), I'm going to go and buy a 360 harddrive (fuck you old one for melting), play through ME1, ME2, Lair of the shadow broker and then finally get around to buying and playing this DLC, all hopefully before my exams...who needs a social life anyway.

Also, is Arrival meant to be played after you've completed the main story or whenever?

i recommend playing both lair of the shadow broker and arrival AFTER finishing the game. the kasumi and overlord dlc can be played during the main game because they are not main story based and it will make kasumi loyal.

opinions on this DLC/epic ending?
I dunno, the ending was sort of "the Reapers of coming" which we knew and I'm pretty sure Shepard knew. All it does is delay the Reapers from coming literally right after Shepard defeated the Collectors. Suffice it to say that Lair of The Shadow Broker was still better and Arrival was kinda 'meh'. The small stealth section was alright but that was about all that really stood out from the rest of the game.

ME3 better blow me away.

EDIT: Kinda weird that I was hearing Harbinger's voice from a Reaper after I fried him at the Collector station. Will he make a reappearance in ME3? Maybe.

He means he doesn't have LIVE at all. No LIVE, no Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

i dunno, that counter with two days left till reaper hell was pretty shocking to me :p
the main point of this dlc is probably to explain the start of me3 so it can start off with a bang like me2, instead of starting with a mission like this or a whole bunch of talking and explaining (what's up with the batarians, how do we know where the reapers will be coming from, why does shep need to return to earth, etc.)

oh okay i didn't know you could actually not have an account, sorry. (does that mean you can't get game fixes/patches as well?)
i guess it kinda depends on how big of a fan you are, i don't wanna miss out on anything mass effect. but if you're not as obsessed as i am i think you'll be okay :)

Yeah, the "no patches" thing can be a bother sometimes. I do get updates whenever I buy a new game, though.

Crap DLC.

Just facing enemy spam solo. Even the "stealthy" segment was woeful.

The only things of merit were Hackett and the forshadowing of where you will doubtless go and what you will do at some point in ME3.

Really poor way to end the DLC after Lair of the Shadow Broker. Not much plot and you spend practically all of your time mowing down waves of enemies, only this time without companions, so its even more shooter gameplay oriented. Pretty much the same shit I hated about the main game.

*SPOILERS*

when you get to the object Rho, you get a vision similar to the prothean beacon visions. can anyone confirm that if you hold off the enemies longer than i did (i pretty much died after 2 minutes because i was playing on hardcore difficulty) you will get more visions between battle waves? i can't play again right now but i can't get this DLC out of my head :p
You only get one vision and thats at the start

I enjoyed the stealthy section in the beginning and it was extremely difficult since I forgot that I have hardcore of from Shadow Broker's Achievement. The Shadow Broker was worlds better bust it doesn't make this one bad, just a little connection DLC.

Also that Last Stand achievement...Jesus Christ was that difficult...Again probably because I was on hardcore but yeah.

I'm pretty upset that I am moving and my fiance packed my things including ME2! I wanted to continue my fourth playthrough and finish it up with this new DLC. Won't be able to get to this one until we move next weekend. :/

In comparison to the other DLC, it wasn't great. Good, but nothing special. I can appriciate Bioware trying to vary the gameplay a little with the stealth mission, but it didn't work for me. I guess maybe after a little over a year of playing Mass Effect games and DLC I'm a little fatigued at this stage.

Although the ending was very good and unexpected, I'm looking forward to see how it's played out in ME3.

Someone should buy BiowEAre a clock. This is at least the third time they missed the planned release of their DLC for the PC again, by half an hour as of now.

How hard can it be to press a button on time?

I just hope that when they finally wake up, it isn't an exe filled with nothing but zeros again...
