Mass Effect 2, Geth Rifle

I've been told there is a geth rifle that kills shields in the game. Supposedly somewhere during the mission to get Tali to join the team. Anyone know if this is true and, if so, how to get it?

I missed this Rifle on my first playthrough of Mass Effect 2, was well gutted when my friends told me they'd all found it.

I found it on my first playthrough at the right difficulty (you have to be on hardcore orsomething like that) and have only used it since (I went with the super sniper rifle on the collector ship).

I think I picked this up on my Perfect playthrough and it's a decent rifle I guess. I never really liked the design much.

It's all right, but I for one prefer the Mattock or Vindicator. Full auto fire doesn't leave a lot of room for accuracy.

note that you need to be on Hardcore or Insanity to get the rifle.

And only one class can use it without special training in assault rifles

I prefer Vanguard and I like my 1 shot 1 kill 1 round clip shotgun better.

The GPR isn't that great; Vindicator or Revenant are better choices for almost any situation. It's a shame, since it's one of my favorite weapons aesthetically.
