This will be upcoming DLC for Mass Effect 2. Does anyone know if this will replace the mineral hunting game?

All the info is pretty much in this wiki.

Read the title as Hammertime DLC... Disappointed

Anyways, it'll probbaly just get used in some special missions or something.

Far as I've heard, it'll be free. And no, it's not replacing the mineral gathering system. It's just there to add more variety and missions.

It doesn't replace mineral scanning; last I heard it'll just add some new planets with specialised missions.

Also last I heard, all Cerberus network DLC was free. The crap they'll peddle out of it will be premium.

Well if its going to "add variety to the missions then i would assume that its coming with its own set of side quests, cause the ones that come with the game have no room for a vehicle. They're all shooting galleries (not that its a bad thing. its more fun than the mako.)

Indeed, it's adding additional missions.

Oh OK, sounds good. Yea I can't imagine they'd replace the whole mineral scanning thing in a free DLC.
I don't know, doesn't look like it took more than an hour to slap together the planet scanning.

Also, the dlc guns and armor were pretty useless.
If they were going to scrap the mineral gathering in a DLC, it wouldn't be free. Far as I'm concerned, anyway.

My tank is Fight!

If it is paid for, it better have more than 3 side missions, if it is free then dont expect too many missions for it.

I hope this one is upgradable.

it's not technically free, it's free through the Cerberus Network, which is 15 dollars or free with new purchases

Oh boy oh boy, new content!

If they're gonna have the hammerhead vehicle, it means they're probably gonna have some new planets to fly around on. Hooray!

So far the DLC would add up as follows though (if I know the standard BS of DLC pricing)
Cerberus armor (alternate costume price + weapon)- 160-320 MS points ($2-4)
Zaeed + mission - 320-800 MS points ($4-10)
Normandy crash - 80-160 MS points ($1-2)
Hammerhead + mission - 320-800 MS points ($4-10)

Total - 880-2080 MS Points ($11-26)

That's actually pretty good... on the other hand, it shows how EA was going to nickel and dime us if Cerberus network didn't come to pass.

Haha. Good stuff.

OP: I doubt it will replace mineral scanning. I think it will just be a new way to begin side missions. I wouldn't be surprised if it is released alongside the new character, having us use it to reach her.

I am fairly certain on some missions you will simply need a tank. I was one of the people who enjoyed the Mako and was sad to see it go. All of my friends enjoyed it as well, which is why I was confuzzled when the internet didn't like it. Then again, it might just be one of those scenarios where the happy people don't talk about it because they are too busy being happy.

Ew, you guys had to pay for the Cerberus armor?
I got that, Zaeed and the landing site free.

Once again, PC proves superior to consoles. :p
He was guessing what the DLC would cost if we had to pay for it. We get it for free too.

You get that all for free on the 360 as well. As long as you buy the game new, you get the Cerberus Network for free.

1) It won't replace scanning, it'll come with some new N7 missions on more planets.
2) Will be completely free for Cerberus Network connected users.
3) Delock has no idea what he's talking about. The prices on those DLC is for people that want them without Cerberus Network, which comes with new games. (EA's Project Ten Dollar at work)

I agree with you on the Mako, I never saw what the big problem was, it always functioned well for me...

Hell, I liked the Mako so much I got mad when I found it, fully intact and unscathed, at the Normandy SR1 crash site and wasn't able to take it with me even as a momento... Guess where I put the memorial statue? :D
