I don't think I've ever been more shocked by a teaser. I'm willing to bet Sheppard's gone rogue for some reason, there's no way he/she is dead, considering we'll be playing as him/her.

Well, I'm totally okay with Sheppard getting marked KIA, and it would be awesome if he got turned into a cyborg or something along those lines, but that's just me, because that way, you could still keep you're skills and such, but you would actually be "dead" in a sense...
I don't think that they will say he went missing or something like that since people aren't marked KIA unless they are confirmed dead, or well, very surely dead, otherwise it's MIA (Missing in action).

On another note, Is it just me or does this teaser look a LOT like the ODST teaser?

I seriously doubt it. I'm guessing they're just taking Mass Effect 1, tarting it up a bit, and hopefully getting rid of some of the problems (aka Barren planets, Terrible vehical sections, the longest lifts ever).

This isn't a bad thing in my opinion. I'm not a huge RPG fan, but I still liked Mass Effect a lot. There where just a few problems that almost broke the experience.

I actually think it'd be kind of cool if you only played Shepherd for like, the first quarter of the game, and the whole time you're an overpowered badass. But then he does something crazy, like try to take a Reaper on by himself or something and dies/gets assimilated or whatever. For those of you saying it would screw up the storyline, how so, exactly? The choices you made in the first game would still persist even after Shepherd died, and then maybe whatever character you continue as becomes the second human Spectre (for stopping evil assimilated Shepherd maybe?)

I thought it did too actually. I doubt she(yeah, she is a she to me) is dead, thats a lot of effort making me give a crap to "through a person down a flight of punches" -Jade Empire. Maybe there is a really great reason that Shepard has to be marked as KIA, like someone is after her or something, pure speculation but I loved the KOTOR games and hated having to let go of both characters.

In all seriousness though, I only remember them saying that your actions would carry on into the next game. But maybe not you.

If not, then it's probably as people have said before, a cover-up or something of that nature. Doesn't really feel like a stretch, Shepard being a spectre and all.

Now all that said I'm not suprised. Somthing tell me he's going after the Black Ops program and needs to be "Dead" to do it.

Be funny if a new love intrest showed up and in ME3 the one from 1 and 2 meet. I don't see this going well.
