Individual power cooldowns. It isstupid they all share 1 cooldown but its short, which is retarded and ends up making it so you really only use 1 power for the whole game, and that to me is stupid, I love chaining powers by myself and I want it back.

Go back to Mass Effect 1's ammo system...in which there was no ammo, just overheating.

Yeah how did our weapons all suddenly loose the ability to let off heat? Why can't thermal clips be like a free instant 0 heat rather than something that holds heat perfectly without loss ever... :(

Space melee weapons. If space armor lets you survive attacks from space guns then it's perfectly reasonable to want to melee it up.
The global cooldown was a good idea dude, vastly better than other systems.
What we really need is a Krogan romance option.

A solid, deem enemy.

This was one of ME2's worse flaws. ME1 had Saren, who was an awesome enemy. Deep, conflicted, and utterly convinced he was right, and you were able to see why he thought he was right.
ME2 had the Collectors, and apart from being a certain extinct race, nothing about them was interesting.

So yeah, a solid, deep villain.

Also ME1's reloading system. Or its overheating system.

Also, make it so when your in space, people are actually in space suits. Space is either really cold, really irradiated, or really hot. And there's no way anyone should go out there without a full suit. Its really seeing Jack walking around in what could be a bra made out of three belts.

I liked the control you had over your squad in the first game, including armour and weapon customisation. I avoid using certain characters because they look so God-awful..

Power cooldown seems to be a little cheap in ME2, so I'd tweak that as well. I don't really mind the ammo system, though I hate how they essentially retconned it. Still, the cover system is nice.

I'd essentially tone down the 'graaah-shoot!-testosterone-tits' elements and go for a more methodical style of play. There are enough run 'n gunners on the market as it is.. No need to make a perfectly adequate RPG series appealing to the meathead audience.

I liked most things added to ME2 except the lack of Wrex in you crew. So what we need is the whole ME2 crew (maybe lacking Jack and Miranda, but keeping Kanye), and the Mako. I loved the Mako, what ever happened to it. It got replaced by those bloody probes, and the awful Firewalker.

How was/is global cooldown a good idea?

OT:
It needs to be a mis-mash of ME1 and ME2, and then give us some more fucking story missions, and not recruiting/sidequest missions take over the game :)

I also think that they should do what dragon age did with helmets, when you talk to someone, your helmet is off. I always felt weird wearing some of the helmets and talking to people because it sometimes took away some emotion from certain parts in the game.

Also pretty much everything the people above me have said as well.

Minerals that you can sell so you could keep buying upgrades. I mean what the fuck were BioWare thinking when they developed a system with neverending resources but you're only able to get money on quests? I had over 100,000 platinum and palladium but no cash to buy upgrades. System flawed.

And yeah, infinite ammo would be nice too, suits the info from the books more.

It needs
-The ammo system from ME1
-The (lack of a) inventory system from ME2
-The ability to chain powers via individual cooldowns (ME1)
-A new kind of mining system
-Letting the Hammerhead stay
-A strong enemy character a la Saren, although the "indoctrinated by the reapers etc." thing should probably not be repeated in that case
-The ability to go down to random planets and explore (ME1). Like Yahtzee said, it gave a sense of tangible bigness.
-Paragon and renegade interrupts. Damn those were awesome.
-Some sort of non-combat activity to break up the endless stream of "ambushes" and missions. Maybe even a way to solve missions without slaughtering the population of a small city. Kind of like the biotic cult mission in ME1

ME1's inventory, but "dumbed down", if you will. I liked having a selection of items to use and the various manufacturers added immersion. Not quite to the extent of ME1's, but similar. Also, a hybrid between probing and the Mako. Find an anomoly? Go search the general area for it. Again; immersion.

Global Cooldowns are fine, considering how overpowering it'd be to activate all 5 biotic powers to destroy/incapacitate everyone at once. I'd prefer them further differentiating between all power in order to make your usage of the global cooldown based upon tactical choice, rather than just use the best move you have over and over.

The story in 3 needs to be more than a side-quest filled 4 mission plot. The recruiting thing was kinda fun, but realizing how shallow story-wise the game was it makes you wonder what the point of ME2 is considering how many party-members can die(which is the whole point of the game-recruiting party members to stop the threat) and having such a large cast of members who may or may not be dead by the time you start ME3 means that:

A: The characters will have minor, pointless cameos, similar to all non-playable ME:1 characters

B: A few or all surviving party members will remain in your party, resulting in an overcrowded party full of characters whos backstories are already fleshed out, which ruins the purpose of talking to them and learn their well-written stories through fantastic dialogue.

C:They help you in the ending but are otherwise unplayable. I suppose this is similar to my "A" scenario though.

I dunno, just feels like ME:2 was pointless in the overarching story. 3 better remain on focus.

Mining - I'm actually going to say they should steal an idea, from all places, Saint's Row 2. Instead of mining an entire planet, send out a couple of droids onto the planet. Every time you swing by the galaxy, stop by the planet and your robo-probes turn in what they were able to obtain. You could also pad this out, say some Geth and coming in and harassing your probes- time to land down and take 'em out.

Also, since Shepard is now not working for the Citadel, let's have then do some actual bounty missions, and please, if at all possible, less of the stupid "I have a problem, go talk to this person 50 feet to your left and figure it out for me," horseshit. I got a spaceship with future Seth Green piloting it- I am here to blow shit up - not be your personal Dr. Phil.

Have your crew actually walk around the ship? Kinda distracting for me that they will forever and always be hiding in their own rooms/ workstations. Have them walk around, talk with each other, eat, stuff. Listen, if Fallout 3 could do it with over 200 characters, you can do it with 30.

More Keith David.

And finally, although this seems to be a Bioware standby, but have your characters have some kind of idle animation when your in a dialogue with NPCs. It's damn freaky whenever you begin talking, whomever is talking behind you just turns their heads and locks right onto you. It's like that one guy from the Silent Hill announcement last E3.

This is pretty much my opinion except i think the inventory system could be saved by
1. STACKING for the love of god...
2. ^^

Another thing that I want back is weapon specialization, you would think after I've killed the population of china with an SMG that I would be able to keep it accurate at 10 yards.....

Five things I can think of.
1. Fix the moral choice system
2. Bring back the mako exploration
3. Get rid of resource upgrades and just use money
4. More side missions
5. (Maybe) The option to go solo and get a jet pack on planets
Edit: The ability to jump

I like the new ammo system. The inventory system isn't really needed. I don't really see the point of bringing it back. There was a reason why Bioware changed the cooldown system of the powers from ME1 to 2, one was that the CD were fucking slow and the other is so people won't abuse the powers to "chain stun" or use push in every enemy you see.

Also keep weapon specialization well away. You a fucking Commander and a hero of the galaxy why the hell can't you aim your gun properly till you fill in 8 points? Seriously after you take out all the pointless armour/weapon upgrades from ME1 the level up system is IDENTICAL to ME2. I don't see why people get taging boners over spending pointless points in weapon training. Weapon training that your character should have in the academy yonks before the game story starts.

Urg...Anyway what new changes I would like to see!

1) Make the combat less "Hide behind cover and Shoot" depended. This, for me, was the biggest flaw in ME2 combat. Every battle was the same. Hide behind a wall/whatever, pop up some times, shoot or use powers. Every. Single. Time.
Give more health to characters or give biotic super bullet absorbent shields, whatever, but I don't want to spend half the combat behind a wall again!

2)Diplomatic solutions! Every mission in 2 was the same. Go somewhere, investigate, find the place filled with Baddie, shoot all baddies, collect reward.
More ways to solve missions and sidequests without resorting to shoot every mutherfocker that stands in your way.

3)Better mining system. But not Mako exploring the same planet with a different colour routine from the first game.

4)LESS CHEST HIGH WALLS!

5)A side scrolling shoot 'em up minigame involving the Normandy! ^^

Other stuff that I don't remember.

i love how every one is crying about the ammo system of ME2 .. yeah so they took away the unlimited ammo big deal at least you use more then one gun to kill your enemies , use a little strategy for once . ME1 had horrid combat and the unlimited ammo heat system was one of its main flaws. at the middle of the game you only have 1 weapon stat that you maxed meaning you will only use one gun for all encounters effectively throwing every other weapon type out the window. and combine that with enough upgrades to make the gun shoot without overheating and you got yourself a mess off a game. anyone who played ME1 did this and every combat scenario always end up with you hiding behind cover and popping out to shoot until your 1 enemy dies.

the ammo sticks in ME2 might no be futuristic for you but it certainly made the combat much more fluent and fun , you had to switch weapons , move , cover and order your useless group to do things for once..

the only things i want in ME3:

- longer main mission.
- explorable planets.
- better customizable armor and weapons , like a cross between ME1 and ME2 .
- better Mineral gathering.

I don't know what pills they use, but they sure listened to the loudest whiners... ME3 should just go back to ME1. Played it recently. Felt like day and night.
