Do you think they'll actually be consequential? Will fucking up both games so far actually make the last in the trilogy harder? Hell, it's not like there'll be much to lose if all your NPC friends died a horrible, calculated death.

Yes.

The assets list script has been leaked and has been placed online. Every choice you make in Mass Effect 2 has consequences in Mass Effect 3.

Having dead squadmates adversely affects the outcome of a lot of quests. Same with certain sidequests from ME1/2.

The "bigger" choices that you made seem to mean little to nothing, though.
Yeah, seems like it. Stopping Reapers with the power of friendship.

And no, I'm pretty sure it's not as simplistic as that. Or maybe it is, as the numbers seem to indicate. I saw the list and it appears that most of the higher numbers are geared towards choices to be made in ME3. I had always assumed that ME3 would not ride on the choices made in the previous two games too heavily lest the newcomer be left out. Of course, the game will make assumptions for these nubcakes.

There's a very fine line for balance that I can't really picture, but if there's too much importance in the previous game's decisions, that could spell havoc for people that played ME3 too much. It's far safer for Bioware to make most of the choices made in the previous two games largely inconsequential and throw a bone in the form of a nostalgia trip or Wrex talkiing or something.

Just like every choice in ME had impact on ME2? Oh, wait.

Frankly, I highly doubt it will matter in the slightest. Bioware only creates the illusion of choice these days. It's a narrative corridor.

Im interested to see how much your choices actually have an effect in ME3, im guessing beyond which squadmates are alive that it will be very little, they dont want to create a divergent story because to be honest its to much work.

Characters are easy to write out and I doubt they make any of the ones that die (can die) in ME/ME2 mission critical although that would be funny in a way if they did sorry you remember you left Ashley to die in ME well BIG mistake now its impossible to beat the reapers.

The choices you made will most likely be reflected in small nods just to say yeah you know that decision you made look we remembered. I could be wrong ofc but I will be very surprised if any previous choice actually diverges the game in any meaningful way.

I haven't read the scripts or anything, but I doubt it will matter all that much. Mostly just key differences in dialogue, maybe a few extra missions here and there.

At the end of the day, it doesn't make sense for them to spend money on large quantities of alternative content.

Still, I am interested to see where my various choices take me.

I'm interested to see how slapping a reported and shooting an annoying fan changes your fight against the Reapers!
