So much for this game...

wait a load of ****, bioware was loosing my respect in the last year after DA2, now it just plummeted faster then the stockmarket crash.

hmm, clearly i need to replay the game, but screw that, i've got better shit to play!
all in all, you do make quite a few valid points (more than me, actually), but i still can't shake the feeling that the writers are going to try to squeeze the lazarus project back into the third installment, and you can't disprove that. have a nice day.

yep, thank's for agreeing with me. and i also have evidence that proves the writers at Bioware like contrivances. it's called mass effect 2.

on another note: combat mode, story mode, and rpg mode? seriously bioware? what about people who want more than one dumbed-down mode? is that too smart for you?

What was wrong with the Lazarus project, at least in and of itself? After a while it seemed more like a gimmicky marketing thing where they got to exclaim, "Shepard DIES!"... which was a load, but whatever.

A. it had the potential to be great character and plot development, not just for shepard but for the people around him/her, but that was squandered painfully
B. there was no bloody explanation for it. At the very least they could've said that they recovered shepard's memories and personality and put him into a cyborg body, but they didn't even fucking try.

I'm actually very disappointed to see no mass effect 2 characters in the squad. (Except for, in some respect, Garrus?) It reeks of corner cutting. "Yeah so we made a game where anyone can die and now we can't be bothered to let you have them on the team."

Of the six announced squadmates 1 to 3 are dead.

Ashley, Kaidan, Garrus and Tali can die. James, Liara and the Virmire survivor are always alive.

Kudos, I asked for mass effect 2 characters and you gave me some mass effect 1 characters. Well you sure showed me. That said I don't think Tali's been confirmed for the squad just yet.

You people do realize that ME3 isn't going to come out for another half a year right? We have no idea what the final result is going to be, you do know that right? Also If Bioware puts in one or two new options it isn't going to make the rest of the game magically fall apart, you do know that right? And RPG mode will most likely be the good old ME experience so if you want to play the normal ME way you can just pick that and get the wonderful blend of combat and story that we've come to love, you do know that right? If you think that the game is going to be bad simply because of these options, simply because that you CAN do these things and you don't HAVE to...then that's kinda sad. I won't be using these options but...I really don't see the big freaking deal

Well that's fascinating. Thanks for that. Hope they have plans for some more squad mates though. Maybe my ship will start to look crowded but other's might look quite lonely indeed.

edit: Examples of choices meaning nothing

You do realize that they have to account for whatever happened in ME2, so there's a set of default choices which get overridden if you imported your save game.

Kinda like, you know, the way ME2 had a set of defaults if you started a new game instead of importing your ME1 save (Who survives Virmire, Wrex lives or dies).
