According to IGN (http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/116/1166006p1.html), Mass Effect 3 is now a 2012 release.

I guess this leaves me more time to play Skyrim; although that has a good chance of vanishing from the lineup, too.

I'm completely ok with this. They can focus on making it the best game ever. This also proves that EA does NOT have Bioware by the balls, they're letting them take their time to make it perfect obviously.

Or they're just making DLC.

I'm going to assume you're joking, because if you're serious, you clearly have no idea how making games work.

OT: Good. Dragon Age II was good, but it would have been better if it wasn't completely and utterly rushed. Hopefully this shows that Bioware is learning from their mistakes.

You're two hours [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/7.281775-Reapers-Delay-Mass-Effect-3-Until-2012] late buddy!

Anyway, let's hope they put the extra time to good use.

Like I said on the other thread about this, good. There are too many games coming out this Fall anyway. I think it's high time developers stop cramming all the great titles into a three month period. I want some more good stuff released in the spring.

As for Skyrim being delayed, maybe. But it has had twice the development time as ME3, so I'm betting they are keeping that 11-11-11 release date. I mean, they obviously picked that date for a reason. It won't be nearly as cool if they have to pick something else.

Good thing, because this gives them more time to make the game up to, and beyond, its standards.
We don't want another Dragon Age 2 fiasco, were the game felt rushed. ( although the game was still pretty good)

Predictions for the year: Mass effect late but fantastic, Gears of War on time but buggy, Skyrim atrociously late and awfully buggy.

EA and Bioware: Garrus, we want to release ME3 in Q4 of 2011.

Garrus: Can it wait? I'm in the middle of some calibrations.

OT: I'm fine with it. Many badass games are delayed. Hell, we were hearing about Ocarina's imminent release long before it came out.

As much as I want to play the game, I can wait a little longer. Besides, it gives Bioware more time to perfect the game.

EA: You need to release a sequel every year, like the rest of our devs.
Bioware: See what happened with Dragon Age 2?
EA: ...

Whatever. More time with Skyrim then. And The Old Republic.
Skyrim no doubt played a part in this decision. Having it release three days before Skyrim would have hurt sales. Now they get to avoid going head-to-head with a RPG giant and have more time to polish/add to it. Win-Win.

I'm glad. Ever since they announced the release date I've been worried that the early release would cut into the quality. Now they have a little moe time to work on it.

If Skyward Sword gets delayed until 2012 too, then Dragon Age 2 will probably be my game of the year. Unless Skyrim really blows me away (I'm looking forward to it, but Elder Scrolls games are always more of a "pretty fun" timesink than they are flat-out awesome to me).
