Mass Effect 3 Discussion. (NO ENDING BASHING PLEASE)

Hello there Escapists! Mass Effect 3 has now been released and right now everyone and their uncle is roaring with dissatisfaction at the rather obscure, somewhat philosophical approach that BioWare chose to take with the ending, rather than say, Harbinger getting shot in the face with Shepard's giant penis (or vagina) gun. This is NOT a thread about that. Not at all. And if anyone decides to try it, I will stab you in the eye with a really hot french fry. (Cookie if you get the reference!) Anyways, what I want to see is what you, my fellow Escapists, thought of the rest of the game. Combat, story, writing, characters, list what you liked, what you didn't like (EXCEPT THE ENDING) and everything in between. Annnnnnnnnnd go.

Oh the combat was top notch, the battle for Earth was HARD, which was a nice break from the usual singleplayer without upping the difficulty. It was an interesting shift in fighting Cerberus and Reaper forces (a good design choice, I believe) as well the few Geth fights.
There were many interesting story moments, those that really struck me though were Mars, it just felt...right. Then there was the Ardat-yakshi temple, which gave off such a powerful aliens-vibe that I kept expecting the husks to crawl out of airshafts...man that one was strong.
The one I REALLY loved though was the Quarian vs Geth campaign, it made me sigh and smile, made me cry out in frustration, want to shoot people, feel sympathy and get all sappy...especially since I was romancing Tali and the end just got so daaaamn tense and full of emotions...
Mordin made me smile...and then nearly cry, as did Thane, which surprised me since I didn't overly care about him in Mass effect 2...they really did strong cutscenes for this game.
Which was actually a bit of a problem, sometimes the cutscenes were a bit...well...long, I love nice scenes and such, but I'm not watching a movie, I'm the star shooting it. ;-)
9,8/10, I'm so glad I got to see this story through.
