above is a link to a very intelligent and insightful critic and what he has to say on the matter of ME3's ending. I highly suggest that everyone read it, cause you WILL become more intelligent for it. and dont you dare say 'too long, didnt read'

You are the second person to post this in the past few days.

Someone suggesting that the primary theme of Mass Effect is cycles does not get points for intelligence or insightfulness, but does get some points in fuckwad for pulling the entitled gamer card (he uses the words '"GIVE US" CULTURE').

You also lose points in everything for suggesting that the drivel that man wrote will definitely make people more intelligent.

I read three paragraphs of the guy doing an unfunny hulk impression skimmed down to the part where he said "fuck this guy" to Jeremy Jahns before I lost my patience and clicked out. Not TL;DR but TFA;DR (Too fucking annoying; didn't read) This hulk guy can go fuck himself as I'm concerned.

The theme of Mass Effect was not "cycles" it was about humanity taking it's place in the galaxy but that fucked that one right up.

Mass Effect 3 haters have already read it (or just posted that they don't care what kind of justification there is, it's crap depending on who's posting). The linked thread is on page 2 of the Gaming Discussion board (as of this post that is).

I really should get around to writing why I liked the ending; it seems like in two years people are still going to be posting about the freaking ending...

yeah agreed, usually i can plow through critics horrible takes on things, but holy shit this guy is awful, if he isn't part of the team that came up with that absolute garbage set of an ending, then he must be paid by them to possibly type all that out.

TL;DR;WBOB

too long, did read, was better off before [i read that horseshit.]

Yes, yes deep art and throw backs to classic Science fiction are all well and good. But simply put it don't excuse plot holes, charter inconsistencies, and the fact that they would have to do the time warp to get some of the things done that they did. The end can be as artistic as you want, but it was bad form a narrative standpoint.

That article is complete and utter bullshit. Mass Effect never had anything to do with cycles except for the Reapers' cycle. It was either about sacrifice or it was about overcoming overwhelming odds.

I said all that needed to be said in the first thread about this guy.

An internet critic liked the ending to ME3.
I didn't.
Should I care what he says, thinks or believes on the subject?
No, because I have a different opinion. Opinions are subjective, and telling people that their opinion is wrong because their opinions differ is the kind of lazy arguing I expect from a troll or a child.
Besides, why do people take him seriously about games when he's a FILM critic?
Last I checked, Roger Ebert is also a film critic, and no one gives a shit about his opinions on video games, so why should we give a shit about this poser?

"THE ORIGINAL ENDING OF MASS EFFECT 3 IS BEAUTIFUL, STUNNING AND POETIC. AFTER A LIFETIME OF WAR AND FURY, SHEPARD COMES FACE TO FACE WITH THE CATALYST (REPRESENTED BY THE FORM OF A CHILD, MUCH LIKE THE ONE SHEPARD HAD BEEN DREAMING OF ALL GAME) AND YOU HAVE A LONG, IN-DEPTH CONVERSATION ABOUT THE NATURE OF CYCLES."

Sorry, stopped reading there, now where's that laughing J.Jonah Jameson clip again?

It must be insightful: it's in all caps...

Seriously that may have been some of the loudest drivel I have ever read. The fucking internet is too good for that guy.

That's how sad he was: he just lost 1 internet.

You know why everybody loved the Mass Effect games? Because apparently Bioware doesn't. There's no fucking mystery though: most people loved the game for the characters.

You'd think Bioware understood that (especially since ALL of ME2 was running around the galaxy meeting new characters and getting to know them through their missions, and the ending built on that payoff by creating tension as your team either lived or died by your choices).

But apparently not. Because nobody fucking cares about the god-child or some pretentious bullshit about cycles (thematic things like that may work well in a movie, but they don't keep a player hooked for 100+ hours spanning three games).

No, it was the characters: the one thing that the ending didn't resolve and in fact barely even included. Great.

So since you lied does that mean you being leving the forms forever to wander the Internet in sham. If so can I come?

There is nothing intelligent or insightful about that review. It's actually one of the worst attempts to justify ME3 ending. I've seen a lot better attempts. But they all fail.

Well, that was the biggest steaming pile of poop I've read this week, and lemme tell ya, the competition was pretty stiff.

And that's coming from someone who really likes ME3.

In that guy's own words...

"FUCK THIS GUY. FUCK HIM IN HIS BIG STUPID FACE. THIS GUY IS PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING WRONG WITH OUR CRITICAL PERSPECTIVE IN SOCIETY. PLUS HE IS WRONG IN JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING HE SAYS."
Right back at ya Hulk, ol' mate.
