Mass Effect 3 Plot Revealed?

This just came up on IGN's website:

Essentially, thanks to a "slip-up" on EA's online store, they added Mass Effect 3 to the pre-purchase list for a short time before it was taken down. However, in the intermediate time, it seems that they've leaked the plot for Mass Effect 3.

According to IGN's sources, the store gave a blurb that went something like this:

The Reapers have indeed invaded. Their port of entry? Earth itself. They plan on harvesting the races of the galaxy, and we're first in line. Shepard must now rally the races of the galaxy to fight the Reapers and take back Earth. It sounds a little Halo-esque, but I'm not complaining.

This is all brand new info, so I could be very, very wrong about this. Still, this plot makes sense, especially considering the recent teasers, and that Mass Effect 3 will be revealed tomorrow.

Sounds interesting, I want this game so much, I'm a huge Mass Effect fan (if that wasn't obvious already), played the games, read the books. Love it. I just hope they find a balance of RPG-aspects for 3, somewhere between 1 & 2...

Wait, so this "new" game bioware is working on is the very game we always knew they were working on.....wait...what?

This is like George Lucas stating that he is making a new movie, this after releasing The Empire Strikes Back.....gee I wonder what "new" movie George Lucas is working on.
