And I wouldn't care if Shepard dies/lives but I would "like" to not get a cop out ending like the original ending that we got but yeah no matter what Bioware has proven that they are stuck so far up their own ass that they can't salvage this shit.

for my personal ending, i would have loved to see having whichever companion you killed in the first game (kaiden or ashley) their body have been reaperfied with 6-7 marauder shields type characters as a final boss fight, with your former teammate constantly telling you how it is inevitable, and that you should just give in (in which case, it'd be cool to have an ending where you do give in and the galaxy is bent on destruction as shepard leading the reaper forces for it) but then you end up either destroying the forces and your former teammate, or if you have full paragon and possibly persuasion up, you could talk their human side into giving it up, and they end up suicide running into jumping into the beam and being the catalyst so the stupid starchild is fucked and doesn't have any control over you and is proven wrong essentially. (basically showing that organics can defeat synthetics and all that shnazzy stuff)


bleh, it just feels so rushed and awful that ending, not tying up shit and just so many plot holes.

The only problem with that there would be no body to reaperfy. Whoever you left on virmire was nuked into oblivion, most likely instantly vaporized by the massive explosion.

My joke answer is a free DLC of the Starchild giving people the finger. Because I believe that's about what they deserve at this point.

oh i realized that, it would be HEAVILY modified/reaperfied, almost a clone if you will, or we could just pull the space magic and say that sovereign had grabbed the body before the explosion and gave it to star child when he reached the citadel. (compared to the star child, there are lots of plausible ways to sneak them into the storyline again.)

This. Maybe with the addition of Shepard dying alongside Anderson and some cutscenes of Shepard's crew mourning his death. My sticking point was never with the sadness of the ending, just with how it threw a lot of things up in the air in the last five minutes and didn't stick around to explain how they landed.
That being said, I'll still be sad to not get to retire with Tali to a nice little homestead somewhere. But Sheperd was probably never going to get to die in his sleep, and this seems like a fitting end for him.

For starters, scrap the last 20 minutes of the whole game rewrite it from the ground up. Now then...

Bad Ending: The resistance gets pounded into the dirt. Everyone dies.
Neutral Ending: The Reapers are repelled for a few years, and heavy losses are suffered by the resistance.
Good Ending: Considerable losses are suffered, but the Reapers are defeated for good.

In every ending, make sure there's some motherfucking closure.
I know these endings are vague, but I'm just covering the basics here. Something that BioWare was clearly incapable of.

But to be honest, I think BioWare wrote itself into a corner when they made the Reapers as powerful as they are. I knew the series would end with a massive Deus Ex Machina or an inexplicable clusterfuck of a finale. I just didn't expect them to use both of those things.

With all those implants Shepard is more or less immortal now right? She romanced Liara as far as I'm concerned and I thought it would be an interesting situation for Shepard to have to deal with. Now she's going to out live Liara. But I guess I'd never get THAT ending so...

When the crucible is activated it sends out a signal that disables Reaper higher functions such as shielding and weapons. This is only a secondary use. Its primary is to override the Reapers Mass Effect core forcing them to go through the Mass Effect Relays and sending them into the galactic gore. I don't mean "collectors sweet spot" galactic core, I mean the bloody center of it all. Reapers are ripped apart by black holes, disintegrated by exploding suns and sometimes, because I want the bastards to "suffer" as much as possible, the relays make two or more Reapers appear in the exact same spot. For a moment it looks like they are merged then the laws of physics catch up as they fall apart by occupying the same space.

There are of course still surviving Reaper and Cerberus forces that must be dealt with but for the most of it there is galactic peace, depending on decisions made, and everyone can rest knowing giant space monsters won't be killing anyone any time soon.

oh whatever I'll just put up my opinion here.

Spoiler: Long arse ending for me! Written when the rage was still burning.

If it was my choice, after Shepard pressed one of the "buttons" he goes on a mystical journey, leaving his body behind, he watches the ending from afar, afraid and angry, he somehow goes back in time and shows up as the past Shepard is about to press one of the buttons, he has a special weapon (EDIT: How about to get this weapon you must go through memories of your whole Mass Effect journey, you know like what you sacrificed to get here, what have you gained and etc), he fires it, it kills the VI child, shattering the past Shepard's fear and everything else, a holographic console opens up from the VI's body after it was killed, the two Shepards combine into one true Shepard.

Also Marauder Shields recovers and becomes your best friend after he comes up and shoots the VI body since it was Harbinger all along and he was about to kill shepard and Marauder Shields says he quits being a soldier of harbinger then finishes him off.

The true Shepard quickly runs to the console, hooking EDI up to it, she edits the program quickly to just make the explosion effect only the reapers and the reapers only, as soon as Shepard is about to press the enter command button on the console Harbinger appears and almost kills Shepard again, but Shepard has one last battle (Dunno how, epic fist fight?), Harbinger goes down, the button is pressed, all reapers die, the catalyst is exploding, the normandy shows up, Shepard runs to it and jumps, (if paragon you survive, if renegade you die, EDIT: Okay that would be unfair, how about you die if you didn't get enough readiness?), good shepard gets on board and they escape.

Epilogue. (mine at least)

A tv shows a picture of Shepard accepting multiple prizes, awards and promotions due to his actions. It zooms out, Ashley enters the room/house with a box, she sees the tv and calls for Shepard, he comes in and sees the tv, he makes a wise ass comment, he puts down the box and grabs Ashley tightly and they kiss.

More clips show up for each of the races/other heroes as they narrate what has happened to them and their race.

Eg. Tali narrating how the geth and her race are getting along and rebuilding the planet.

Liara telling how she returned to her own planet and began rebuilding too and became the next asari councilor

Wrex saying how he has became leader of the Krogan and that they have found a new planet and have began to create children.

And etc for others.

Then a brief clip of Shepard and Ashley with every other surviving crew member gazing out into the ocean as Shepard narrates their outcome and how he has overcame hardship and etc.

The true END!

EDIT: Also break and add bits and pieces to make your happy well deserved ending. (Someone get this to Bioware damn it!)

Thinking about it, I would also be just fine if Shepard has her heartfelt conversation with Anderson, and then we watch a series of cutscenes showing the accumulated forces fighting the Reapers, and then we watch a series of cutscenes showing the Reapers destruction. And then Shepard dies sitting next to Anderson before the Citadel explodes.

So basically just cut the game off right before Hackett calls you with "It's not working."

I finished the game at about 3 in the morning, because there was very little that would stop me playing it.

When you are sitting with Anderson and see the arms of the citadel open, there is a period of a few seconds when you just see blank space and floating debris between the arms and complete silence. Possibly due to how late/early it was, and how psyched up I was for the ending, those couple of seconds seemed to drag on for ages, and for those few seconds I thought that was how it was going to end: everyone is dead, you haven't managed to save them, and no matter whether or not you kill the reapers, everyone is still dead.

I thought that ending was fantastic. Then.... things.... happened, and nothing was the same again.

My personal extended cut would probably be pretty depressing: the remaining Krogan, after discovering that the genophage cure didn't work would probably go to war again in anger and be all but wiped out, and since there are no Quarians any more, I suppose that nothing would really happen with them. Both of those choices were some of the hardest, if not the hardest I have ever made in gaming. Since I hadn't spoiled the game, and went in blind, I had no idea that it was possible to save both the Quarians and the Geth, and so chose the Geth, after all the Quarians were the aggressors in the situation, and the Geth genuinely didn't want to fight. As for the Krogan, I see no way that things wouldn't return to how they had been before if the Krogan can breed again.

Shep dies, he/she has to for the complete story arc of ultimate personal sacrifice.

And no relays destroyed or quantum communication beams it everywhere, so the epilogue is SHEPARD'S FUNERAL. Anderson gives a speech speech "A shepherd, on Earth, guides and protects the weak and innocent..... yadda yadda") which plays over cutscenes first from the actual funeral showing the surviving crew and then around the galaxy showing the character's impact (krogan babies or krogan suiting up for further war if not cured, geth and quarian cleaning up together, or quarians wiping up the the remaining few geth). And somebody punches that reporter one last time.

Much better wrap up than one could hope and it has the opportunity to have multiple different endings. Perfect Paragons or Renegades get longer epilogues.

Skip the Cerberus base, kill TIM as you reach the platform Kai Leng arrives, so does your squad, if you made the right choices you can have Wrex, Feron, Jack, Zaeed, Conrad Verner ect arrive and kick the shit out of Leng or you have to leave one of your squad mates or yourself to stop Leng disarming the crucible

OT: I want an ending where your actions lead to the ending. No bullshit choices at the finish, that's storytelling at it's laziest. I want a load of totally different endings, that are results of your actions. If I have to have choices, I don't want all these choices to be exactly the same. I want loose ends tied up. If my squad dies, I want to see it, I want an emotional connection, I don't want it to be a fucking discreet little footnote at the end. I want goddamn closure for all the 150+ hours I invested per character. I want an ENDING (y'kno, where there isn't a trillion fuckin' loopholes). I want the ending to follow its own canon, so there isn't apparently dead squadmates walking out onto some weird planet, or Joker mysteriously getting the hell outta dodge. And I want an ending where I feel all my character's actions meant something. That means no bullshit, entire fleet is screwed, mass relays blowing up kills EVERYBODY, EVERYWHERE, Earth is ruined. I could accept that as one ending. Not all of them. I don't want some crappy child giving me some nonsense about the plot which makes so little sense, I'm convinced it was written while high, and being told that is my ending. I'm sick of being served a shit sandwich, and being told not only that I should stop complaining, but because I was told that this shit sandwich was a 3 Michelin Star meal, and it turned out it was actually a shit sandwich, that it can be interpreted as a 3 Michelin Star meal and that the shit sandwich is actually wonderful, and that I'm a douche, for not wanting to eat my fucking shit sandwich and complaining that my supposed Michelin star meal is a shit sandwich. BTW, all of these are NECESSITIES. They are of paramount importance. /rant

The only thing I want that isn't 100% necessary is to include the Reaper's actual motives. I want them, but I know this will probs be screwed up, so I can survive without it.
