Has anyone read this yet, and if so, what are your thoughts on it? I'm currently just starting on chapter 2, and I'm really loving it. It really stays with the whole feeling of the ME universe.

In short: Nope, never even heard of it.

Stop NOW if you haven't read "Revelations", the prequel to Mass Effect. There are characters from that book in this one that didn't appear in the game. Plus, it's damn good.

Yeah I've read it (and revelation). Ascension is a very good novel for anyone with a interest in sci-fi in general (it doesn't overplay it and does it in a very realistic way). There's also some great information in there for those of us who are very interested in Mass Effect 2.

As a side note I'd recommend it over revelation which is good but not fantastic (and by god does it make you change your outlook on Saren and see where Anderson is coming from).

It's not really a book OF the game, more like a book that bridges the gap between ME1 and ME2.

I will keep that in mind, as I haven't read Revelations yet.

I really liked the book. It was written very well and if you liked the game, which I'm sure that you did otherwise you wouldn't be reading the book, you'll love this book.

Also, they said that the illusive man would make an appearance in ME2. Fingers crossed.

I've read it and I thought it was great. Better than the first one. Quarians are awesome.

Alright.

I think I'll get it, but I've got a few ten-thousand pages just begging to be read. So it'll fall at the bottom of the pile.

How long is the book?
