Something about this is upsetting to me. It seems like something which would be done as a joke.

Maybe, I hope, it is just a joke. I can't tell as I can't read Japanese, but here's the original article.

Reading the article through Google Translate, I don't see any indication that it's a joke. But of course it could be.

If true, it seems like Square is turning FF into advertising space. "Reach Millions of Japanese Gamers, place your ad in Final Fantasy today!"

I don't follow FF, but apparently the ending for FF13-2 was apparently shit too. Kinda funny, in a one bully laughing with the other bully kicking you in the balls kinda way.

hmmm interesting now even more DLC I will not be buying TBH I have had enough with RPG downloadable content (im not talking about the weapon) I just wish they would focus all their efforts on the next game.

Ideally release a game when its done if its done its done leave it alone dont start adding stuff to it and making optional extras ok this isnt a hard and fast rule but I wish more generally followed it, Capcom are as bad.

Epilogue DLC will be called "Mass effect 3-2"

It will take place two years after the events of the main game, and star Liara, Tali and Jack
If Jack or Tali died in your playthrough, they are brought back by space magic
You will be able to change your class at any point in the game through utilizing the innovative "Class Grid" system

The reapers defeat has brought about the Eternal Cycle. Liara, Tali and Jack are now space pirates searching for prothean relics. The reason behind this is that Liara found a beacon that for whatever reason showed Shepard locked in some prison, which convinces her that he is somehow still alive and that by finding more beacons she can find out where he is.

Throughout the game they run into an opposing group of relic collectors lead by Kasumi.
Eventually, the group discovers a beacon that reveals that there is an enormous anti-reaper weapon hidden within Eden Prime, with the power to destroy the galaxy. The ?Shepard? Liara saw in the beacon is actually the ghost of someone who conveniently looks like Shepard from another cycle, where the dominant race was also very human-like. Liara also conveniently looks like the person the past Shepard loved.

After defeating the past-Shepard and the Prothean weapon, you get a 1 minute clip showing what your choices did. If you did everything in the game, you also get a 30 second clip of Shepard being brought back from the dead by space magic and reuniting with Liara. We considered having him reunite with your love interest, but we just assume most of you picked Liara anyway.

Well, at least this is a step up from the "blatantly charging fat virgins for fanservice" that constituted the last FFXIII-2 costume DLC.
