Here's a little good will towards Mass Effect fans, regardless of what console they play on. I read on the Mass Effect Wiki that the digital interactive comic, Mass Effect: Genesis, will be available for download in January and it will be available, not only for PS3 owners, but for PC and 360 owners as well.

I'm not sure if this was common knowledge, or if like me, it was only thought to be for the PS3 version. If you want to jump in to a new Mass Effect 2 game and not get the horrible default storyline where everyone is dead, then this little interactive comic is a small blessing.

Here's the link with the details

Oh, and Happy Holidays to one and all. Man and Alien alike.
Oh, for some discussion value: Are you happy about this?

*Sniff* So...I don't have to drive around in the Mako for 20 hours for a save transfer? Thank you Bioware. Thank you.

Now if only they'd replace the armor for the Hammerhead with something more durable than storm trooper plastic.

I will still be using http://www.masseffectsaves.com/ though, since the comic apparently only makes you make the big choices and stuff; still. Good news.

I'm not the only one who noticed that, thank god. I thought I just sucked with it.
Kinda defeats the purpose of a tank when the human controlling it is more durable.

Interesting news. I wasn't expecting that, so that's pretty nifty. Although considering I've already played ME1 and know the story, I would find something that just lets you quickly select all the choices you want and then lets you go without the story recap. Still nice of them to release this for everyone though.

I think you're overrating what the Hammerhead is made out of. It seemed more like wet tissue paper to me. :p

Well FUCK.

I got Mass Effect 2 after I played ME1, however I deleted all my save games of ME1 in an effort to save harddrive space, at that stage I though the saves were unimportant then since I was bored of ME I got rid of it.

So then I get ME2, loved it but couldn't use my savegames.
So after finishing it like 4 times I got rid of this too, then I hear about this little thing which lets you effectively make your own ME1 character and slap 'em into Mass Effect 2, so I can't help but say...fuck...

Oh yeah, by gotten rid of I mean traded in. Before you eat me I actually got damn good trade value, and used that to buy a bunch of other games, including my beloved Dead Space.

I just would not want to do this. For me, it's a story to play all the way through, and every time through both games I realise new great things about them.

I can see that some people might want to do it, I just love both games too much.

I played ME1 and 2 through on PC with the same Shepard, but I'm worried when ME3 comes out my PC wont be up to the task of running it, so I might get it for Xbox so this could be useful for me if I wanted to cut corners in re-making my PC Shep for Xbox.

All the same, I'd rather play through the 1st game all over again on my Xbox to make my own save game for use in ME2 than use this. It jsut seems like a cop out.

Presumably those big choices are the only ones that will actually matter in the larger context. I cannot imagine railroading the PS3 user into a situation they never had an opportunity to escape from.

Plenty of lesser choices, though they showed up in ME2 to an extent, will obviously have little impact. Choices like how you deal with the rogue shadow broker minion early in the game.

But... But... the Mako is epic fun to drive... Nothing is more awsome then cruseing off a cliff or mountian, hitting the jets, toubling end over end, and watching Wrex and Garuss cry like girls in the passanger seats. ;-)

I miss the Mako... i hope we get some Mako action in ME3... (I'm being dead serious here. lol)

You deleted save games that are a grand total of 95k each in order to save space?

I think the main issue with the Mako was the fact that they made us drive around shitty empty planets.
Hehe, the way I drove it, it's a good thing they were empty... You think Shepard can do crasy damage with an assult rifle, you should see what he can do with a 6 ton bummper car... heh

The default storyline is that all the deadable characters are dead?

I'd have thought they'd of made it so that they're all alive to give you more options in the second, although I suppose they thought that wasn't worthwhile if you'd never played it.
