Mass Effect Movie?

It just kind of pisses me off is all. I mean, the Mass Effect games were pretty cool and all, but those "games" were pretty much movies to begin with, just with a nice "tinge" of interactivity to make them look like (and be priced as) video games.

I want a Shadow of the Colossus movie. Or a Katamari Damacy movie. Nao.

Seriously, noone makes movies about good games that don't beat the games to death. Besides, what would the point be? I mean I guess you could do the First Contact War, but anything after that would be canonizing non-canon material.

My thoughts exactly.

I, for one, am excited for a Mass Effect movie. I think it's a great opportunity for the Mass Effect to expand. The universe they've made is fascinating and interesting and a great sci-fi movie could come out of it if handled properly.

I personally don't mind it, as long as it doesn't try to follow the main plot point for point and skipping out stuff or cramming in stupid exposition. It never seems to work.

On second thought, a video game based story in general never (or rarely) seems to work...

Because I don't have a a lot of interest in the First Contact War, this would make me only interested in the Shepard story, but that would just be impossible. Only possibility: make it 200 years in the future; it'll take care of any people that could die in the games (and Shepard), making it all canon, and they could use Liara as a connection to the game as she has another 900 years or so left.

WHat I'm going to do. Seriously, Mass Effect games are all deep, with rich characters, and all 20+ hours long. How are they going to portray this in 2 damn hours. Make it a T.V. series like Star Trek was, then I'd watch that. or make games in the Mass Effect universe not about Shepard. But a movie is literally the worst media they could do something on Mass Effect on.

These would be great ideas. Well, not Mass Effect. I have a problem with ME which is basically this... There is a massive army of squid ships out there, and the track record for just ONE of them is the killing of several civilizations. And we have destroyed...one, right? Explain to me how the human race isn't gonna be fucking dead.
