Mass effect novels/comics worth reading?

so Im quite a fan of Mass effect, and I have seen the novels cheap in stores....

so are they worht reading? could I call myself a fan if I didnt?

also somthign unrelated I somtimes wish I could get the DLC...I hate the Idea of missing out (Im even considereding getting the ps3 version just for that...If I get a ps3)

You won't be missing anything really. It isn't bad or anything. Unless the frequent depiction of Liara's plump posterior is "bad" :p

Also, the comic dlc is on the Xbox, and probably on PC too, so no need getting the ps3 version for that.

Edit: Have yet to read the second one, so can't comment on that.

They are a resounding Meh. If you can get them cheap and are a huge fan maybe, but I got them free and I barely made it through the books/comics

You wont be missing out too much as far as game wise goes. There were quite a few nods to the book in ME2 that I noticed.

However, if you like the lore, or if you need even more of a reason to hate TIM, than I would recommend them. They were really good reads for the sole reason that I love the lore, I love the style of writing (same writer as the game), and I love the characters/environments.
