I just got Mass Effect on steam the other night. I'm really enjoying it but I'm also wondering if I'm going to have issues with save-file transfer now that EA and Valve aren't friends anymore.

I'll probably buy a retail copy of ME2. Does anybody know if I'll have issues importing my save file from the Steam version of Mass Effect?

I'm going this route because I assume ME3 will not be on Steam and will be on Origin instead. I also assume that when I buy my retail copy of ME2 it'll get loaded into Origin because DA2 did when I installed Origin for the BF3 beta.

Anyways any answers are much appreciated.

Steam is just a digital distribution platform, the saved game files sit in your My Documents/Bioware/ folder and thus is transferable between ME1 and ME2 regardless of retail, EADM, Origin or Steam.
