FUCK SCIONS, they can go to hell, with they're god damn armor breaking ranged attacks tha you can't take cover from and for some god damn reason does splash damage. RRRAAAGGGGHHHH, this is the fifth time I've had to reload, they take out my companions before I can touch them.

Fire and maneuver works best. Hit them with a good incendiary weapon, don't plant yourself in one bit of cover and move around every time you use up about half an assault rifle's magazine (or every round from a sniper rifle).

Also, powers. Use them.

The answer: Warp, and upgrade the shit out of your pistol as it does loads of damage to armor.

That said, Scions annoyed the fuck out of me as well.

Use that laser beam weapon.

That does wonders.

Yeah, I had more trouble on Insanity with the Scions than I did with the Reaper!

What class are you playing as? And who are you bringing with you to fight them?

General tips, either way:
-Spam Warp/Incinerate/Reave
-Use Incendiary/Warp/AP Ammo on pistols/snipers
-Collector Beam is your friend
-If you can manage it, don't stay in cover; strafe back and forth. That, or goad them into launching a Shockwave, then quickly change positions.

Warp/Incinerate/Reave spam. It sucks, but you absolutely need 2 Warp (or equivalent) abilities on your team on higher difficulties.

Don't use the cover mechanic against them unless you have no choice. Instead, stay mobile and just walk behind objects. Keep an eye on your team members and make sure they are far away from it. And use anti-armor powers (Warp, Incinerate, Reave, Inferno Grenade, Armor Piercing Ammo, Warp Ammo, Incendiary Ammo) and weapons (Heavy Pistol, Sniper Rifle, and Assault Rifles are also OK).

If you have to use cover, go for high cover. Their shockwave attack can still get you sometimes if your cover is low.

Staying mobile is the key. As long as you keep your distance you can take them down (even if you have to kill them with bug bites)

Another tip: Take out the other enemies around them first (Husks, Abominations, collectors). Scions are slow and not deadly unless you expose yourself to them. But if you concentrate on the Scion and ignore the other enemies, those other guys will likely swarm you.
