Mass Effect save issue (SPOILERS)

So I just finished Mass Effect one. I kinda liked the game though and that's because I'm going to buy the second one next week. I've heard of the system that will import my save from the first game into the second one. That's all great, but in the meantime I kinda liked to replay the game again on a different character. This would be all fine if my last save from my first character wasn't an autosave. I've loaded the autosave but it's at the point where Saren kinda evolves into an avatar of Sovereign, remember? So, I can't save the game anywhere after my autosave. How can I solve this problem?

Once you start a new career i think it has a separate autosave for each one.

Seems you'll just have to make a new character if you want to do a new character for ME2.

Yah, there are different careers available. I believe you can hit the Y button when loading to change careers.

L3m0m_L1m3 is right. Start a new game with a different character. Then, if you ever want to change, the Y button allows you to switch careers. You can also start all over, but with the same character imported. If you do that, you might want to play on Isanity, as the enemies will otherwise be push-overs.
