What do you guys think?

EDIT: Looks like they are touching up ME1 if this screenshot is anything to go by:

UPDATE:

The Escapist has covered the story [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/119808-BioWare-Unveils-Mass-Effect-Trilogy].

We're looking at a $60 price point. Not bad, especially if DLC is included.

I do think this is kind of soon, they could have waited at LEAST a year and sold if for cheaper. This is still great news for anyone who hasn't yet played any of the games, collectors and for PS3 owners everywhere!

My thoughts?

Well, damn you Fappy for posting about this topic a minute before I did! [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.389364-Bioware-announces-the-Mass-Effect-trilogy-compilation#15611016]

But anyway, like I said in the other topic, it's good for those that have never got round to buying it or for those who particularly want to play the first one on their PS3, but I don't think I would consider picking it up unless ME1 and 2 both have all the DLC with it, and if possible whatever DLC has been released for ME3 up until the launch of this. I also find it odd that there's no Wii U version.

EDIT: Woo! 2000 Posts! Bring in the dancing lobsters!

Yeah, I read the press release about it this morning. They made a point of stressing how many perfect scores the third game got - hilarious.

That said, I do find this odd (but not entirely unexpected). 3 has basically dropped in price to a budget title in the space of just over six months. I suspect this is nothing more than a cash grab because of lagging sales.

Is the DLC from all 3 games going to be included? Has EA hashed out a deal with Microsoft to distribute ME1 for PS3? Are they going to remove the film grain from 1 to make it "more modern"?

Also

Experience an amazingly rich and detailed universe where your decisions have profound consequences on the action and the outcome.

Gratz bro!

I imagine a Wii U version will be announced after the holidays. They'd have to port all of the games over before Christmas if they were to announce it now. I don't see that happening. They haven't mentioned DLC, but I'd hope they include all from at least the first two games for those who don't have them. If you already own the DLC for the old versions of the games I am sure they will work. Might need to download a patch or something for Bring Down the Sky if they do serious work to ME1.

The only major piece of DLC I am missing from the first two is Pinnacle Station (which is crap), so I'm good. Probably won't ever buy any DLC for ME3 :p

Interdasting! Should be a real treat for PS3 owners. I wonder if it will include ALL the DLC for all the ME games?

ME1 - Bring Down the Sky & Pinnacle Station
ME2 - Normandy Crash Site, Zaeed, Pre-order DLC, Weapon packs, Kasumi, Overlord, LoTSB & Arrival
ME3 - Pre-order DLC, MP DLC, Extended Cut, Leviathan & Omega

Considering I already own both the Mass Effect Limited Collectors Edition and ME2's Collectors Edition and ALL the DLC for ME1 & ME2 (minus the Blood Dragon Armor), I probably won't be getting this. If ME3 had been amazing then maybe I would have.

Great news for PS3 owners, like everyone else though i'm surprised it has happened this quickly. May pick it up depending on the price, but considering I already own all three games on the PC, it would have to be a pretty good price.

edit -

$60US? That's a great deal. If it has all the DLC consider me sold.

I'd have thought they would have waited another year or two before they released this, but still awesome news nonetheless.

If this included all the DLC this would be worth the double dip on 2 games. Sadly that would require ME3 to be done with DLC.

I think I'll wait until they announce a Wii U version. It'd certainly give a huge boost to the system, and if they throw in some great implementation of the GamePad (make mineral scanning an iPad-like minigame rather than a boring slog?) and all DLC released up to that point (except the ME1 comic from the PS3 copy of ME2, for obvious reasons) then I'd buy it with the console.
