OT:I'd hate too see what happens when all the snow melts,I've never heard of a place banning driving due to the weather.

Down south here in South Carolina these fools get "milk an bread" crazy at the slightest hint of maybe a storm coming, it's fucking pathetic to me who has lived in Upstate new york literally 4 miles from Lake Ontario, I have seen and been in snow drifts as tall as or taller than me(5'9") so the 2-3 inches that melt almost immediately is nothing to me. Hell the only road hazard at that time is the drivers down here who have no defensive driving sense or basic common sense at all

Wished it snowed where I live. Not to the point where no one could get to work, just enough so I could probably throw some snowballs.

Anywho, hope things get better over there ert.

Which one's snow again? That's the cold one, right? I remember reading about that once.

Obviously things like this happen, it's just hard to wrap my sun-drenched head around it. Flood warnings I can get, maybe even an extreme heat warning? Snow warnings just boggles the mind.

Sorry, I had to. :p

I've never heard of driving bans due to snow. How deep is it now?
At least you get proper weather.

All I have to look forward to is a bit more queuing in the rain.

Would it surprise you if I told you that this weather pops up on occasion even in southern Sweden? Even in MAY?

Snow is my mortal enemy. My car cannot handle it well at all. The last time we had a somewhat deep snow, this happened.

Why not just have your car transform?

thats pretty good storm you got there or just stupid people? i never heard anything ever closing becuase of a storm, and we had pretty darn big winters (this one was cold but little snow, the snow didnt even reach above my head).
*Looks at birth date.* "1989"

a blizzard around the same category of the blizzard of 1978
Does that mean that I don't know anything about WWII because I wasn't born in 1939?
Because everyone remembers the storm of 1978 due to it inducing a ban on driving in a single state.
I'm sure people in Massachusetts do.

In Colorado, no one seems to understand the big deal. We get large snowstorms starting around November and continuing until April. I don't think anywhere except near the mountains got it as bad as the east-coast in the last couple of years though. It's a matter of how prepared the area is really.

We've just started to get a little snow down here in Reading. Doubt it'll stick though, there's been too much rain.
You been to the town centre lately? Riverside by the oracle is crazy flooded most of the time. Like you cant go down the stairs by Mcdoos.

Its weird that theres another reading guy on this website though. The snow was pathetic :C Before was wayyy better.

You guys call that a blizzard? I have shoveled more snow then that off my car in the morning before going to work.

I'm pretty much 100% certain that you don't have any recollection of a big snow storm that happened in your state 11 years before you were born. As well as the effects that the said storm caused.
You really shouldnt talk about things you know nothing about. Most people who live in eastern US or Canada know what the blizzard of 1978 was.

Al you mofos are so lucky. Here in Florida, don't get any snow, ever.
we haven't even gotten a good hurricane in a while. It's just boring as hell here.
Give it time, man. We'll get another "Hurricane of the Century" sooner or later. Remember that whole thing about "It's been 10 years since our last really bad hurricane, so the next one will be absolutely devastating!" and nothing really happened?

OT: I hope you stocked up on salt, bud.

Huh, didn't really notice and snowstorm where I am.

It's actually quite nice here. Well, apart from the ball-shriveling cold.

Maybe other parts of Vermont got hit hard.

I'm curious as well, the photo is an exaggeration (at least for Western Canada) and hereabouts we've never actually shut down car traffic due to heavy snow... things just really, really suck for awhile.

I only ever remember getting one Snow Day at school and that was way back in 1998 when we got 3 feet over night, but that's it, also I think my dad still went to work that day.
98 was the year the ice storm took out power in eastern North America for quite long periods of time. The power lines collapsed under the weight of all the ice from freezing rain. School was out for weeks in some areas and many people died using unconventional heaters(like propane BBQs) to keep themselves from freezing to death in their own home.

All that said, it was both rather horrible and uniquely beautiful.

I don't know, mid winter it usually gets too cold here for it to snow that much. 4-6 years ago we got quite the snowfall though, I remember walking down my street to go to work at night and not being able to see the houses over the snowbanks, just the light coming from the driveways in between snowbanks. That was pretty cool to experience.

Eastern Ontario took a walloping last Friday. Everything from Toronto through London was shut down. I'm in Guelph, and I had to walk to the far end of town to find a store that was still open. Every university was shut down entirely, and the busses were running late if they showed up at all.

Meanwhile, today all that snow melted and it's been raining like a ************.
That being said, it doesn't take much to get Toronto to freak out over the weather. Though I suppose on the other hand Toronto's traffic situation is pretty damn awful on the best of days so anything that makes it worse would be pretty rage inducing.
[sub]*shutters* oh god, perpetual Toronto rush hour lasting the length of time the storm affects the city... That is quite horrible...[/sub]

But your car is apparently Bumblebee from the Bayformers movies. Can't you just have him transform and carry you?

I live in Ottawa and that's just a snow storm for us. You haven't seen a blizzard.
It would seem something has gone a bit wrong with your image there, chum.
It still shows up as a pic of Emma Watson saying "***** Please" for me. Doesn't show anything...
What'd it show you?

This is going to sound worse than it is, but I wish that bad mutha' blizzard would have hit Arkansas or thereabouts.

I LOVE the cold, and thanks to climate change we haven't had a winter below 50 degrees fahrenheit in almost a decade.
