So I saw the thread about epic wins in games and a few posts above my own, there was a guy who said he could remember more of his epic fails than wins.

So I thought, who's got some hugely painful failures in games?

My own, I remember taking about 45 minutes to beat the final colossus in SotC. When my girlfriend finally got to it, she instantly saw the weak point on the should you're supposed to shoot to get to his head from the second arm. I felt like a mega retard, since I spent 45 minutes trying to leap straight from his hand to his head. I did actually get to his collar eventually tho.

So what's yours? What's your undeniably cruel, cheap, painful or downright failures in a game?

I was laddering on Starcraft 2 for about 4 hours, when i started i was rank 8(gold league Btw) over the 4 hours i kicked butt. When i had to leave, i was one point short of being ranked number 1. The next day i came back to play thinking i just need one win and ill be good. So i jump on play my first game, lose, no problem i only lost 8 points, Im still in second, one win can get my to first. I lose the next five games, I went from rank 2 to rank 6, with a 6 game losing streak.

Haha, the group I was playing with in WoW wanted to help a mutual friend farm out a specific boss in the Scarlet Monestary. Anyway, after you kill this knight some lady revives him only I shot the sorceress so fast with my hunter that she actually died before reviving the guy and the loot never dropped. (i'm going to be lazy and not doublecheck if I have the location correct. This was more or less how things went down however).

I did it again years later with a lucky (or unlucky) grenade throw in Borderlands, early on, rocketing a boss up over the rocks and beyond the range of killing. It was funny yet tragic at the same time. :p

I died many times over several years to the first Scorpion boss in FFVII (only playing occasionally with other people's playstations) until I realised the translation error and that the idea was NOT to attack it while its tail is up

I got a bunch (6) of ships in X3:TC (they were battleships of various nations, very expensive) to annihilate all life sector by sector (I got bored) to move to somewhere but they all crashed into one another remaining with only 2 with one destroyed by ramming a station and the other destroyed by the combined fire power of retribution attack.

Needless to say I died.

(It took me so much time to get the money and outfit those things to be death machines)
