Okay as a metal head, I can be a little scared to venture out of my choice genre. But after some tricking with my friends today, we came back to mine and started to show me these really awesome bands. I had never known that the Irish music scene was actually any good.
(If someone could tell me how to embed videos I'd gladly share.)

But are there any Math/post rock fans on the escapist that could recommend some more for me?

So far I've listened to:
The Special Others: Japanese, gorgeous music.
Adebisi Shank: Fucking awesome Irish three peace.
And So I Watch You From Afar: Great Belfast band, some good post-rock stuff.
Lite: More Japanese math-rock, good stuff.
Rega:Kind of a jazz fusion sort of techno sound.

To embed from YouTube the code is [ youtube= ]. You copy the part of the URL after v= and insert it after youtube=.

So this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iTN2noecwEI would be [ youtube=iTN2noecwEI ].

Except we remove the spaces so it ends up like this.

Between There and There.
Country
The Wide, Brown One.
Here's a little something from Jesu, Justin Broadrick's main band and... well... yeah, 'post-rock' is probably the best label for most of their stuff.

Red Sparowes, one of my fave post-rock outfits and advocates of the steel guitar

Pelican, another fave although they do tend to blend a lot of metal into a lot of their tracks
