What do you think? The trailer looks good, but it always looks good.

From what I can deduce, there's hell and some dude with wings in it, so it looks like another butcher job.

I'm still on the fence about it. Even if there are demons and stuff I'll still watch it with an open mind.

If the movie is good, the movie is good. It doesn't matter if a rotten hamster toting a bazooka appears at the end.

Dudes with wings are Dudettes, actually. IIRC, someone in the trailer called them Valkyries. And as we all know by now, Valkyries can never be male.

I'd put money on those being in a dream sequence.

The whole story is a vague-ish interpretation of Fimublwintr and Ragnarok. Plus those drug sequences really were annyoing till I figured out the trick to that corridor

If any actor can pull this off, it would have to be "Marky Mark" Wahllberg. Now let's see his constipated look...

Max Payne 2 is in my top 5 video games, it was soooooo good. Hopefully this movie can pull off the same gritty noir tone that the game established. But i do have one complaint, Mila Kunis (spelling?) is way way wya too young to be playing Mona. In the game Mona was a mature professional killer, not a some college girl with a high pitched voice.

I was interested in it... until I found out it was PG-13. Still, it could be good, in Schroedinger's sense. Mila Kunis has Mona's look down, but none of the trailers so far have shown her speak...

Im really excited for the movie, but there are two things that bother me:
1.PG-13 rating: Max Payne was dark and gritty, and while PG-13 can be very dark and gritty, the source material could have really shined without these restrictions.
2. Mila Kunis: I cant take her seriously, as Grampy_bone pointed out she has the look down, but after seeing her for the last however many years as Jackie on That 70's Show and as Rachel in Forgetting Sarah Marshall Im not sure how she'll do as Mona.

1.- The Dark Knight was also PG-13.
2.- C'm on, give the girl a break. As long as she doesn't come off like she's trying too hard, I'm willing to see how it goes. How are performers supposed to get better if people just pigeonhole them? Yeah, she's way too young and sports a high pitched voice but hopefully she can make a damn good Mona...with a high pitched voice 'cuz that's not coming off, that's just how she talks.

I mean, remember those elves in the battle of Helms Deep? They did okay, even if it was a total ass rape of Tolkien's work. A young looking high pitched Mona dishing some PG-13 violence with good ol' Max (again, remember the TDK) is not the worse off we can be.

I am hopeful - this can be good. Or at least watchable. I just hope it is not another Wanted travesty. It would be interesting to see how much they pulled out of those games - in the first time there are at least five separate flips and switches between good guys and bad guys.

First Max was a cop chasing drug guys.
Then he was an out of control cop chasing more drug guys, and killing them left and right.
Then he was working for the Russian, I think?
Then he was up against the secret government agency behind the drugs.
Then he was fighting the Illuminati.
And finally he was fighting a corporation that is splintered off from the Illuminati.

They obviously can't do this all in one movie. In fact, there is enough for five TV show seasons.

Great, now I have to go play those games again. Good thing they are only $7.50 both together on Steam.

Wait, Mila Kunis? Isn't that Meg Griffin or something? Aww, geez.

I just hope that it's good. You know how these things usually turn out *cough Silent Hill.

From what the trailers show I think Max spends a lot of the movie coming down off the drugs. Looks like it be recut as heaven vs hell story too.

The script was aparently leaked, if the one I read was real, then this movie isn't true too the game thanks to a different ending and no "Vlad".

*Panics* Yes, yes he has to be.

And now without Vlad, this movie has to make enough money to warrant a sequel, just so I can sit in a cinema and hear "Maax, dearest of all my friends,"

It kinda looks like a typical special-effects wankfest. They should have gone for a more noir-ish feel. And hired a proper actor to play Max.

Its all fine and dandy playing a game that basically just involves shooting guys in slow motion, but I lost interest in high-octane, guns blazing, pseudo-philosophical action movies aaaaaaaaages ago.

Isn't that the first Max Payne?
