I'm a part of a post by post style online roleplay group and we've currently got three major settings to use. I want to run some mini-campaigns but since I'm new to the Game Master-ing role some ideas would be helpful. If you would be so kind, Forum, could you share some ideas for a guy trying to kill some freetime?
The three settings are: a fantasy world where there are no real limits other than "don't be OP, don't God Mod, make sense, don't cyber and don't kill other player characters", a high school that also contains a few super powered students and teachers again and finally a City with a more complex rule set than the others and is inspired by the visual novel/anime Fate/Stay Night of the Type Moon franchise
Notes:
- Some (read as "most") of the players are kinda noobish and can get a little confused sometimes
- I don't actually have any major authority but I've developed a small reputation within the group for good ideas so there should be little (none if possible) permanent changes to the settings and no killing off of characters (It sucks away the drama big time but not much I can do)
- The best way to think about the structure is that the three settings are a series and the mini-campaigns are episode arcs
What I've got so far:
- In the School setting, I've got an idea for a Campaign where a ritual drags the entire school campus into the Underworld by a powerful warlock as part of a deal with a malevolent spirit
- In the Fate inspired setting, I've plans for a campaign where a Master manages to get ahold of multiple servants at once and then sacrifice them to break the rules and take control of a giant monster Servant.
If you have an suggestion as to improving the above plans, I'd be grateful so long as I think they work
