So there has been a lot of discussion over Mass Effect 3 and the decision to put in multi-player. I have personally decided to play it first before I make my final decision to condemn the game or not. But that isn't what this article is about.

If you have read any of my other posts then you probably know that when I am thinking about one thing my mind often drifts onto a different topic which is somewhat related i guess. anyway I was thinking about all the things which have been added into sequels which have worked (such as the melee combat in Left 4 Dead 2 or the equipment drops in Halo Reach), and those that haven't (like Hardcore Mode in Fallout: New Vegas, which was still a good game in my opinion).

So I want to know about the design or gameplay choices which have been added to a sequel with good or bad results. Have at it...
