I hope they release this for the 360. =(
Why? Just play the first one and get the more personalized experience.

Imported Shepard > Inter Active comic choices.

And how come the loading times are SO DAMN SLOW on ps3 compared to 360? I thought if anything the PS3 loads would be instantanous almost. It almost feels like my PS3 is churning and struggling to load it up.
Blu Ray has a notoriously slow transfer rate. Virtually every multi-plat game has much longer load times on the PS3. It's not BioWare's fault, it the PS3's.

That being said, this is not a shoddy port at all. There may be a few options missing from the back story comic, seeing your choices take effect in ME2 doesn't have the same impact as it does when you load a save, and there are a few encounters missing, but other than that, it really is the definitive version of the title. The visuals are better too, if only marginally so. Plus all the DLC comes ready to go - you can't really ask for more than that.
Oh I know, I hope I didn't come off as knocking the PS3 version. It is awesome, I got it on both 360 and PS3. It is just for me. My canon playthrough is on the 360. So basically what this comes down to for me personally, is the PS3 version is what I like to call my "fuck around for fun" game. I still have my one gripe with the PS3 version. That since it is on 1 disc I should be able to recruit anyone in any order like you can on the PC version (When you move files around with that techno-sorcery) I can understand not being able to do it on 360 cause it is double disc, but they had a good long time to do that. That would have made the PS3 one the more definetive version in my eyes. Oh well, beggers can't be choosers.

So to get the most out of a game I really enjoy playing...I need to play a game I really don'tenjoy playing for 20ish hours? I don't care if it's one big story or not, that's mindnumbingly ridiculous.
No, you don't. Most of the remaining choices do squat in ME2. Half of them only give you one email, the other half change maybe one line of dialog. Heck, saving the Rachni Queen just gets you a bit of dialog saying "HAI I'm the Rachni queen K BYE"

Why are people even treating this as a surprise? Of course Bioware are going to bullshit about this game being the definitive version! Its a year old game with everything on it that you could get cheaper and looking better on a PC. They still want to flog the game at a high price though, so trying to stroke PS3 fans egos by telling them they are getting the ultra mega definitive version is what they did.

Honestly, I feel sorry for PS3 fans that bought into the hype from Bioware - their verson is flawed to begin with since 90% of the story of the Mass Effect "trilogy" so far has come from the first game, and it was much more fun experiencing it in ME1.

ME2 was mainly "reset, restate and beef up the shooter combat so its crammed down the gamers neck the entire game".

Don't hate Bioware. Aim the hate at Microsoft because they own the rights to Mass Effect 1.

That is why I whole heartedly believe they shouldn't release just sequels on different systems. Like Saints Row 2 on PS3. Most people didn't get it for the fact they never played the first one, nor could they since it is a 360 only title.

Usually getting the most out of a game comes from having a personalized story. And I have a feeling that some choices you made in ME1 might have some big impact on ME3. It being another way for Bioware to be like "HA! Bet you forgot about that person/choice you made didn't you?"

Then again some people don't care for the minor things. I for one liked the emails and the galaxy news talking about things I did 3 years ago that I forgot.

I liked the news reports but the emails were just a cop out. I shagged the freaking consort, and all I get is a bit of text? I agree with you, but after playing the game ~12 times when I first got it, I understand not wanting to play it just to change tiny little things. I have a save editor for that ;p

While I didn't care that much about letting The Council die (humans forever!), I was annoyed about not getting to see what would change if Wrex and Kaiden were alive during ME2.
You know what changes? Fuck-all, that's what. If you saved Kaidan, then Kaidan will come and ***** at you for dying later in the game. If you saved Ashley, then Ashley will ***** at you for dying. If you saved Wrex, then he will talk to you instead of the generic Krogan clan leader. They basically have the same dialogue. So it's not really that much of anything other than "Oh look, see, your past decisions have some effect, see, you killed them so now they're not here/you didn't kill them so now they're here!"
TRUTH. So much damn truth. Only the big choices really mattered. That said, it was nice to see Helena Blake again...
