ME3 Multiplayer "Events"

So maybe I'm just short sighted- but there doesn't seem to be a whole lot *to* this aspect of the game. Every single one of the events so far boils down to:

"Go play multiplayer! We'll give you the means to play multiplayer some more as a reward!"

Calling it "Operation Dicktackle" or "Operation Retinabasher" doesn't make it any less of an SSDD situation.

(And yes, I know. "Target 1 specific enemy" and "Play 1 specific map" have been a few variations. But considering how fucking samey both the enemies and maps are... well, I'm not exactly blown away.)

Gave up on the ME3 MP weeks ago. I had drawn all fun there was to be had out of it with the MP demo. Now you just have a few more weapons. If you're lucky that is. Seriously... The unlock system, ugh.
Most games I joined the host had a shitty connection and it would be a laggy mess, the rest of the time there would be complete idiots on my team and we'd die all the time. Screw that game, screw it so hard. And yes, this is as bland as a Horde mode gets.

Yup, the ME3 multiplayer events are pretty underwhelming. Apart of that, I haven't really much more to add. I'm still playing the multiplayer these days and while I don't care much about said events, I'll gladly take the subsequent Victory Packs.

Does anybody actually feel that new skins for the same 4 guns is a real motivator? Like honestly.

Huh, like my normal pistol? Meaning it's more or less invalidated by biotics?

I think it's a great idea. Makes the multiplayer seem much more involving than any others than I've seen, especially since they do it every few weeks. Then again, I really enjoy the multiplayer and the game in general...

This isn't an mmo for christ sake...

yeah it isn't all that fancy and it boils down to "kill this many X's!" or "take this many Y's!"
but for the people who enjoy the game, it helps run some juice into the weekends for everyone to cooperate a bit better.

I mean honestly, a year ago people would've been amazed at the mass effect multiplayer working as well as it does..

If you were looking for wackier events try Gears of War 3. Pumpkin heads, Boomshots use Chicken rounds, and so forth.

I don't know what game you are playing, but biotics don't invalidate pistols.

Heavy pistols are some of the most powerful guns in the game.

I think they're trying to tie the Multiplayer into the lore of the Singleplayer a little too much, so there PROBABLY won't be any particularly "wacky" events. But, Operation Silencer is coming this weekend, and I've got some pent up revenge against those damn Banshees I'm READY to vent.

Also the latest blog post has pretty much confirmed Vorcha characters in the MP, so I'm stoked.

I've unlocked most of the powerful big guns. But, 90% of the time I'm still using my Phalanx pistol, one of the very first weapons I unlocked. Most people seem to prefer the Carnifex, but I like the Phalanx's balance between damage, speed and clip size. Plus, pistols mostly don't weigh much, meaning shorter recharge times, so you'll get more out of your powers. Use power, pop off some rounds into enemy heads, follow up with another power (preferably for a combo). Use it right and it can be very efficient.

Then again, I mostly play Geth Engineer, so my turret actually kills as much stuff as me. It seems way more effective than the equivalent of the other Engineer races.

Once they started routinely bugging out and not giving any rewards for participation they stopped being much of an "event". The event was I played some multiplayer for the weekend.

I'm convinced it knows what you're looking for based on the classes and weapons you use the most. On average I play Infiltrator the most...and as such I've yet to find a single Black Widow and the only character I've left to unlock is the Geth Infiltrator.

Meanwhile, I never use Assault Rifles, and I've already got a piece of shit Striker lvl 10 and it keeps throwing Vanguards at me while Vanguard is my least-used class.

I've been having a good time in the MP, which may be because I'm not good enough yet that everything seems easy, possibly unlike some other people. Anyways, I got my first Black Widow yesterday, so I'll be having a good time sniping banshees this weekend.

I'm sorry, but it tries a lot harder than Modern Warfare without using some crap gimmick like Elite. At least they're trying to keep new stuff coming and last time I checked, the Map Pack that they put out didn't cost me anything. i know that if you want to get the best stuff quickly you have to put up your own cash, but I just save in game credits instead.
