Quarian Infiltrator. Really? Quarians should be Engineers and Sentinels. Infiltrators should be Human, Drell, and Turian or Asari.
Should?
I meant for the co-op. Not in a general sense.

So, what? Humans get to have all the fun but the different races get shoehorned into their stereotypical roles?

Let's have a thief class while we're at it, Quarian only, or maybe a prostitute class, an Asari specialisation.

You humans are all racist.

Some are a bit weird but I guess they had to do that for balancing.
I don't have any big expectations for the multiplayer anyway, so it doesn't really bother me.

Nice generlisations there, what? You don't like strong Quarian assassins? Is that it?

You humans are all racist.
All Quarians to the back of the ship!

You say these things and, I don't know, maybe it's because you had a Batarian father.
Oh hell no, you didn't just type that.

My father was a hard working Batarian, he never slacked a day in his life, all those slaves didn't whip themselves you know, no, he was there, 12 hours a day, just whippin' away. And what does he have to show for it? Nothing, because some high and mighty Human Spectre decided that slavers were 'evil and deserved to die', my father tried to talk him out of it, but that Spectre guy, he had enough of my father's 'disingenous assertions', and put a bullet in his head.

I think this is mainly a strive for numbers balance. Drell are supposed to be rare. They give the Drell one class so you won't see three other Drell every time you join a match. And humans will be in the abundance.

This makes sense to me. The only thing that doesn't is Krogan Sentinels. That's a tad odd. But I digress.

Now I'm just waiting on confirmation on whether this information is true or not. An IGN Wiki doesn't seem to be the authority on all things Mass Effect.

Aside from that, it'd seem silly to preclude humans from any class since Shepard can be any of them.

While some of the choices are weird *cough* Sentinel *cough* others make perfect sense. For example, the Asari being Vanguards and Adepts because Asari are known for their biotic abilities and Quarians and Salarians being Engineers(and to a lesser extent Infiltrators) due to their technical aptitude. Drell makes some sense too since they were also good with biotics. Turian Infiltrator would've been a good choice since that's what Garrus is, same with Krogan Vanguard being Wrex, but other than those I have no complaints.

I know that your father was a hard worker...I've got the scars to prove it.

Wait Krogan cant be Vanguards?? Thats essentially what Wrex was in the first game though :( Well I guess he was a Battlemaster and they're supposed to be rarer than shit, so I guess it makes sense.

[small]it still annoys me though[/small]
This upsets me as well. It's the main thing that I wanted to be in multiplayer.... I really hope that there will be changes later, because frankly many of the choices for the races make little sense.

I second the idea that Quarians can be excellent assassins. And not just because I was always hoping to play a Quarian Infiltrator girl.

Personally, I think the reason that Quarians are Infiltrators and Engineers as opposed to Sentinels and Engineers is because you don't really hear about Quarians ever having biotics, as far as I know. Infiltrators simply fit them better, due to their racial affinity to technology.

The only one that I find acceptable is soldier, those races make sense I guess.

Also while humans can be everything they probably can't do it as well as everyone else, that is if race actually factors into what powers you get.

Wait... Krogan can be sentinels but not vanguards?

God damnit.

Oh well, guess I'm looking at a Krogan Soldier, Asari Vanguard and Salarian Infiltrator.

Seems to follow a clear pattern, actually.

Humans -- All classes, no exceptions.
Salarians & Quarians -- Engineers and Infiltrators, the tech-focused classes.
Drell & Asari -- Adepts and Vanguards, the biotics-focused classes.
Krogan & Turians -- Soldiers (obvious) and.... Sentinels?

As best I can tell, the intent seems to be playing Sentinels as the "genius bruiser" archetype by having the two species the least inclined to be intellectuals (and only non-human species able to be soldiers) into the least expected class; in other words, a subversion of the archetype their appear suggests (if still permitting the archetype to be played straight).

Continues to rant about the lack of Batarians in Mass Effect multiplayer.

I'll probably wind up settling for a Salarian Infiltrator or something, but that's still my second pick to what I actually wanted.

I'm thinking the absence of batarians could be justified by the story - they're probably still too busy getting over Shepard killing a few hundred thousand of them to want to join the war effort.

I suppose humans may have weaker racial bonuses or some such to counterbalance this.

Hey wait a minute.... Where is the Volus adept! There has to be a Volus Adept! Didn't ME2 show Volus could use biotics?
